Cam POV

I was outside of Alainas house waiting for her to come out, I waited a couple of seconds then I texted and called her but got no answer. I got out the car and walked to the front door "guess i gotta do it the old fashioned way" I mumbled to myself

Boom Boom Boom

I banged on the door "yo Lainy you up in there girl" I listened for movement or any sign of life, but I didnt hear anything. I twisted the door knob and to my surprise it was unlocked "yo alaina you better start locking doors before a crackhead walk in and jack yo shit" I yelled laughing, but I didnt hear her say anything thing.

I walked up the burgundy carpeted stairs and made my way to Alainas room, making sure to knock first "yo Alaina come on stop playing before we be late". I slowly opened the door with my eyes closed, but when i didnt hear a eww get out i proceeded when I fully walked in her room I looked around only to see it was empty, I let out a sigh thinking maybe her mom drove her to school, as I turned around I noticed the bathroom light on I slowly walked in thinking what if a crackhead really did come in, but when I opened the door I saw Alaina laying on the tile floor thinking maybe she fell I reached for her head to see if I saw any bumps or bruises but i didnt and thats when I saw the blood in her wrist it was everywhere "Alaina" I yelled lightly tapping her "alaina wake up please wake up" I said while picking her up and rocking her in my arms, I pulled my phone out my pocket and called the ambulance then continued to rock her in my arms.

When the ambulance finally came they took lainy up on a stretcher.

I drove to the hospital and called my mom, lainys mom, and Te Te. As I drove my mind was racing a mile a minute I was was sad, worried and mad because as her best friend I should have known something was up with her, if she di.. I stopped myself from thinking negative thoughts as I pulled up to the hospital, when I went in Alainas mom was already there and balling her eyes out I ran up to her and gave her a hug and let her just let it out.

"Where is she, where is my baby girl" I heard a deep voice yelling I turned around to see a tall brownskin man looking around till he saw Tanisha then he came over "what the fuck happened" Tanisha started telling him what happened and I walked away and took a seat I didnt need a recap of what happened it was hard enough going through it the first time.

I assumed the guy who was yelling is Alainas dad because he looked furious about what Tanisha was telling him. My mom, Te Te and Sam walked in Tanisha ran to my mom and they cried together while Sam and Te walked over to me.

"what happened" Sam said

"I dont care what happened I wanna know is she okay" Te said with tears falling out of her eyes I pulled my cousin in for a hug and told her to just hope for the best. Te got up to go to the bathroom. Then Alainas dad came and took a seat next to me it was quiet for the first five minutes then he put his hand out "Jacob" I looked down at his hand and shook it "Cameron"

"you saved my daughter"

I shrunched up my face if I would have saved her we wouldnt be at the hospital right now.

He noticed my face and smiled a little " Tanisha said if you didnt call when you did she would have lost more blood and wouldnt have made it".

I let his words sink in and just stared at the ceiling
