Chapter 37: Growing Family

Logan

"Oh my freaking Gods." Sam gasped as he pulled down my shirt to reveal the mark that was left on my shoulder. I wanted to jump and yell that I have been mated, but on the other hand I was beginning to feel weird about jumping around and allowing people to know my life.

"Come on, Sam." I groaned fixing my shirt as we walked through the halls. I made sure to wear a bit of a high collar shirt under my usual over sized t-shirt. I was tired today so it was baggy jeans that were wide enough for me to high kick someone if I needed to.

"What's wrong? You should be doing parkour off the walls." He noted and Lilith laughed next to him. Having Lilith with us was still a little strange but it was nice because she was quiet and wasn't as annoying as she used to be, but then again, it's Lilith.

"I just feel a little awkward about it. Gods, I don't know." I growled while slamming my textbooks into my locker and Sam chuckled while leaning next to my locker and bending down to look into my eyes. I only glared up at him as he stared at me.

"Aw, you're feeling shy." Sam cooed and I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Logan Everton doesn't feel...shy." I snapped.

"It's okay to feel a little shy. Being mated is a big event. You're bonded to Johnny now, not everyone is like that in grade twelve." Lilith said and I began smiling like an idiot.

"He's my mate." I laughed.

"Hey, pretty girl." Someone said. I turned and Johnny walked towards me, he had his football helmet attached to his bag and he was putting away his gloves. His hair was a bit damp and he ran a hand through it, he had on a grey football hoodie with shorts on and his socks pulled up, accompanied by his Vans.

I blinked a few times at his attire.

"Are you alright?" Johnny asked worriedly.

"I'm fine." I said.

"Really? Because you look like a fucking weirdo with all that blinking." Sam pointed out.

"You're dressed different..." Johnny looked down at his clothes and then looked back up at me. With the whole tattoos and piercings things it was...odd, yet...I liked it. I think.

"We had football practice this morning and we have a game tonight. I used to dress like this all the time. Is it because I don't have my black jeans on or my black shirt?" He asked bending down to kiss my head.

"Yes. I'm so confused as to what you even are right now." I said.

"Thanks, Lo. You always know how to make me feel good." Johnny said wrapping his arm around my neck and pulling me in close to his chest. I grinned and ended up wrapping my arms around his torso.

"I'm just kidding. I just like making fun of you." I shrugged while placing a kiss to his jaw. He smiled down at me and pressed his lips to mine briefly.

"I have to go get my math books, I will see you in class." He said pressing another breath taking kiss to my lips and I watched him walk down the hallway with Ryan, both of them towering over the grade nines that walked to their classes. I was watching him and I was just smiling and I looked to Sam and Lilith who watched me confused.

"Sorry, where are we going?" I asked while blinking.

"Math." They both said.

After school Dean and Jake weren't home, so, before Johnny's game tonight I decided to make some dinner. I left the leftovers on the counter for when Jake and Dean got home and I sat at the kitchen table by myself catching up on some work I had to do. It was a slow process but I was coming back to some kind of routine. I stopped the fighting and belittling people and really focused on my school work and my friends.

"Logan?" Dean called as the front door opened.

"I'm in the kitchen." I called back while literally stuffing my face with food as I set down my pencil. Dean and Jake appeared with large smiles on their faces and I frowned.

"What's wrong with you two?" I asked as they both sat down across from me.

"So, over the past few weeks, Jake and I have decided to bring in another foster kid." Dean began.

"Another foster kid?" I squeaked. I was so used to just Dean, Jake and I. But now another one? I had gotten so used to our little island of peace and paradise. Would this be another troubled teen that wouldn't like me? I only got along with a select number of people.

"Yes. He is the same age as you and we think you both will get along just fine. It took a lot of work but we convinced Anna to let him come live with us." Dean explained. Anna? I miss Anna. I hope she didn't tell anyone that I'm a Youngblood. I told her that if she did I would have to kill her. I should send her a fruit basket...or a gift basket in general. That would really show I changed, she might just keel over and die at the prospect of that happening.

"More boys?" I asked.

"Yes, but he is cool, trust me." Jake assured and I nodded while hearing the door open again. I took a shaky deep breath as the footsteps came closer to the kitchen and I grabbed my pen and twirled it in my hands nervously while watching in anticipation. Suddenly, a tall boy with the dorkiest grin came in.

"It's me, bitches!" Sam yelled holding out his arms and I stared at them with wide eyes before pushing my chair out and standing up right.

"Sammy!? You guys got Sammy to come live with us?" I asked surprised while running over and hugging him tightly.

"We explained to Anna about your progress and how Sam was your best friend and she said that Sam would do good in a home not only with two men who are mated but also with his best friend." Dean smiled.

"Sam, we are brother and sister." I whispered quietly and he grinned at me.

"I know, are you surprised? Who would have imagined you and I as siblings?"

"We are going to be the coolest family in Sunny-fucking-river." I assured while feeling my heart swell. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside and I couldn't stop smiling, this is what love felt like and I liked it.
