Chapter 45: Counselling

Logan

"You will sit here and speak to the counsellor. You cannot behave like this Logan!" Principal Kane said flustered. He brought me into a small office and sat me down in one of the cushioned chairs and I looked at him.

"A counsellor!? I'm fine. Honestly, what did I do that is so bad? Werewolves have high tolerances and we are all hyped up on energy all the time." I told him and he stopped and glared at me.

"You broke Jamie's nose and not to mention embarrassed her and Zack in front of the whole school. Violence will not be tolerated young lady. Werewolf or not, there are rules here. We don't run a zoo." He scolded and I gave him a "what the fuck" face and shook my head while sitting in the chair.

"She's a werewolf, she will heal and someone needed to knock Zack's ego down a few notches. If anything I did you and this whole school a favour. How about all the unwanted advances Zack was making? He should learn how to keep it in his pants" I said. Who does this guy think he is, yelling at me? I did nothing wrong.

"Ms. Everton for the rest of the school year you will see the counsellor every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and she will update me on your progress." Principle Kane said before shutting the door and I turned back and narrowed my eyes while crossing my arms.

It was silent in the room and I glanced around at the neutral colours that were plastered everywhere. Beige on top of beige on top of beige with a little splash of grey here and there. Finally, the door opened and in walked a tall woman wearing black pants and a button up blouse. She sat down across from me and smiled. Her green eyes were shining brightly with happiness and she had a smile on her face. I studied her face from the freckle on her right cheek to the laugh lines surrounding her mouth.

"Hi Logan, I'm Ms. Field but you can call me Erica." She said, her personality seemed bubbly and nice, a little too nice with where she was working. A high school for werewolves where there are fights everyday? People having sex in the bathrooms? Couldn't be me.

"Erica..." I hummed. She continued to smile and opened up her leather notebook. I watched as she wrote the date and my full name, she put 'Youngblood' in brackets beside my name.

"Why did you write that?" I asked pointing and she glanced up at me.

"Your name?"

"No. Youngblood. I'm not a part of that pack anymore." I noted, she scrawled it down in her book and completely ignored my subtle request to scratch out "Youngblood".

Okay, Erica I will partake in this system you are doing.

"So, Logan I heard that you had been sick for about a month." She began and I nodded.

"I got abilities when I shifted and apparently when I am too stressed my ability gets all out of control and can basically fry my brain." I explained quickly and she stared at me with odd eyes.

"No biggie." I added with a sweet smile on my face. She shook her head and wrote what I said down in her book.

"Now, why did you fight Jamie and Zack?"

"Jamie is a confused girl who needs to know that she shouldn't be flirting with someone's mate and Zack is an egotistical, male werewolf who needs to be pushed down a bit. If anything, as I said to principal Kane, I did this school a favour." I said confidently and she just nodded while once again writing down what I had said. With how she was writing, I couldn't fully read her notes.

"Tell me about Johnny." She said.

"What would you like to know?" I asked.

"What's he like? Does he treat you well? Is he smart? Does he have any hobbies?" She asked.

"Johnny treats me very well. He loves football and being with his friends and pack mates. He's under a bit of stress with the whole alpha thing going on." I said while playing along in this casual conversation with her. I was telling her what she wanted to hear without going into too much detail. This should satiate her for the time being, it's what I used to do with Anna until the very end. Anna and I got along well towards the end and she knew how to help me.

"Tell me about Sam. The same thing." She said.

"Sammy is my best friend. Him and I are now foster siblings which also help. Without him, I'd probably be in more trouble - he gets me." I said.

"Ah yes, you both live with Dean and Jake Silverstone. Tell me about them." She added and I ever so slightly clenched my back teeth. I was annoyed with this constant pestering and questions.

"The best parents in the world. That's it." I assured her.

"What about your birth parents?"

"They chose to ignore how I was feeling when I was a little girl, their parenting style didn't suit my needs like Jake and Dean do."

"Will you ever forgive them?" She asked curiously and I smiled sweetly.

"One day. Not now."

"How about Landon and Lincoln?" She then went on to ask.

"My blood brothers. They took over the Youngblood pack which I think was a good move. They have never done me wrong, except maybe not looking hard enough for me. But, if I don't want to be found I make sure I am not found."

"What about Lilith?" She asked.

"Lilith got put in her place and finally found out how those people she called friends truly were. I forgave her. I always had a soft spot for Lilith, I mean I had to kick her ass first just to remind her that I am stronger." I answered.

"Now, do you feel sorry about what happened to Jamie and Zack? Jamie should have healed by now but I understand that Zack was in a bit more...discomfort." She said and I snorted a laugh. I kicked him hard in the balls, I wanted to make sure he'd have trouble having children in the future. Serves him right for how many times he has come on to different girls at our school when it was unwarranted. There is a certain way to act and that is not it.

"Because I kicked him in the balls." I finished for her while continuing to laugh and she just made a slight grimace and nodded.

"Ahem...yes. Don't you feel bad, do you think you could apologize?" She asked and I tossed my head back and laughed. She continued to stare at me and I leaned forward, ceasing my laughter immediately as I stared right into her eyes. It was quiet for a few moments as I searched them intently.

"Erica, does it look like I feel bad? I only wished that I did it harder." I said and she continued holding my gaze and I did it right back. Of course, you should never look away from a dog or you'd be seen as inferior. That was a thing for us when we shifted. In human form it wasn't but it mattered to me. I wanted her to look away. Finally, she did and she wrote a few things down and I just sat back and watched her write.

"You know I'm going to do it again, right?"

"Do what, Logan?" She asked while looking up and I looked at the clock that was right about to signal the bell and I stood up.

"Kick Jamie's ass. She needs to be reminded some manners. I'll see you later Erica."

"Logan, no more fighting!" She warned and I just smiled and waved as I shut her office door.
