Chapter 9

~Ava's POV~

The note read:

The instructions for this are simple.
As you go along to the destination that is written
On the card, there will be a word on the back.
You need to collect all 6 words then you
Need to arrange them into a sentence.
The destinations will be written in clues.
Then, meet me in the backyard.
The first destination is:
This is a place where you wash and dry clothes.

I immediately went into the laundry room and looked in all of the washing machines and dryers. I pulled out the note that read:

Good job. The next destination is:
This is where you clean yourself.

I turned over the paper and the word was: You.
That's odd. But, I shrugged it off. I went into Pete's bathroom and looked in the bath and sink. Nope. I looked in Dale and Peter's bathroom. Nope. I checked Hillary's and found it in the bath. It read:

You're doing well. The next destination is:
This is where you keep clothes from getting creased up.

I turned over the paper and the word was: My
To be completely honest, I thought this was really weird but I kept going. I went upstairs and into Pete's room. I looked in his wardrobe. I went through all of his clothes carefully and I came across my favorite shirt of his. On the shirt, was a note. The note read:

Hey. You're halfway there. Good job. The next destination is:
This is where food is kept safe.

I turned the paper over and the word was: Will.
I made my was to the food larder. It was pretty big so it was going to take me a while. I looked through the bread. Not there. I checked everywhere. I then remembered there is a drawer full of sweets. I looked in there. It was attached to a fruit roll up. The note read:

Sweet. You're almost there. The next destination is:
This is the place me and you play videogames.

I turned over the paper and the word was: Friend.
I immediately went into the living room. Where has he put the PS1 ? God, this was hard. I looked around the TV where it normally was kept and it wasn't there. That is when I remembered that last night it was moved into Pete's room. In ran back up there. The note was on top. How did I not notice it ? The note read:

Okay so one more to go ? You excited ? Anyway, the destination is:
This is where when we were 9, I got a concussion because I ran into this.

Where did he do this ? Ah. It was the dining room. I turned around the paper and the word was: Be.
This actually made no sense. I was so confused but I carried on going. I went into the dining room and looked on the table. There was a pile of paper work. Great. I carefully went through each piece when at the bottom of the pike was a note. It read:

Congratulations ! You did it ! Now rearrange the words and then keep them in order and meet me in the garden.

I turned around the paper and it said: Girl.
Okay, I had the words: You, My, Will, Friend, Be, Girl. I arranged them to be: Girl, will you be my friend. No, it couldn't be that. I moved them around a bit. It made absolutely not sense. After about 10 minutes, I finally had it. I kept them in order. I walked into the garden and a beautiful sight met my eyes. {Look at picture above. That is what it looks like}

I gazed at the scene in front of me. It looked like something out of a Disney movie. I walked into the main garden to find Pete. All on his own.

"Pete. This is beautiful." I said, walking next to him. He looked at me.

"I do try. Anyway, did you sort the words out ?" He asked, with a grin on his face. I nodded.

"What does it say then ?" He asked playfully.

"Will you be my girlfriend. Wait what ?" I said, not realising at first. "Are you serious ?" He nodded.

"What's your answer then ?" He asked.

"Of course I will you dummy !" I said hugging him. He hugged me back tightly.

When we finally pulled away, we were surrounded by Dale, Peter, Andrew, Hillary, Joe, Joe's parents and brother. They all cheered.

"Finally !" Dale exclaimed, running over to us. I laughed at her as she hugged me.

"Three cheers for Pete and Ava ! Hip hip !" Hillary shouted.

"Horray !" They all shouted.

"Hip hip !"

"Horray !"

"Hip hip !"

"Horray !"

They then surrounded us in a big hug. I loved them very much !
