Eve's POV.
"Dad?! What's going on?!" I shouted, jogging to the scene before my eyes. Police cars were parked around the accident, caution tape all around the street signs, blocking off the usual route to school. It wasn't really a problem for me though, considering I walk to school everyday. The paramedics were also here, talking to one of dad's co-workers.
"Evelyn, it's nothing to worry about. I'll take care of it, you're gonna be late to school." Dad assured me, jotting down some notes in his journal.
"Nothing to worry about?! Dad... you're kidding right? There's literally a dead body right there."
"Evelyn, I said I'll take care of it. I'll see you after school, okay sweetie?" He gave me a quick hug, and peck on the forehead as I continued walking, doing as told.
I soon got to school, only having 6 minutes left before the first bell rings. I quickly walk through the main entrance, searching for my one and only friend group. Once I found them, I dodged people through the hallway and made my way over to them.
"Heyyyy!" I greeted.
"Yo."
"Hi."
"Heddo."
"Hey."
"What up."
"Hola."
"CHICKEN."
I have no idea why he couldn't have just said "hi."
"... Andrew... why... why chicken...?" I asked, making the "why do I even bother" face.
"Yeah, I mean why not duck, or goose, or swan... jeez don't discriminate on birds Andrew." Sky jokes.
"I guess you could say Toucan play at that game." Josh replies, making Sky cringe to death.
The bell rings, and me and Sky go off to calculus with Andrew.
*In Class*
We take our seats and open our math journals. I glance across at Andrew. He seemed almost... distracted. I look over at Sky, trying to get her attention. She was doodling in her notebook, not doing the entry task as usual. But who does, anyways? We finally made eye contact, and I nod my head towards Andrew.
"Drew, what's wrong?" Sky finally asked, causing him to bolt up.
"Nothing." He bluntly replied.
"C'mon, Drew. We know you, you would've pointed out to Sky that one of her flower petals weren't aligned or even with the other petals by now."
He didn't even look up at us.
"Well, first of all, I never bothered to look at your drawing. And second of all... prom is happening soon..."
"Yeah, in a little over a month... you don't have to worry about that yet. You still have plenty of time to ask Becca." Sky replies.
Andrew's face turns bright red and glares at us. "Ask Becca to prom?! Where did you get a crazy idea like that...?" He stutters. Because you've liked her for like three years and it's pretty obvious. Duh.
