Eve's POV.

I was walking back to my car when I hear someone call my name;

"Hey Eve!" I turn around and spot Luke running up to me.

"Hey Luke, what's up?"

"Nothing much, just talked to Thomas. He has trouble asking Sky out to prom."

"Oh, tell me about it. He called me for help the other night and I gave him a couple ideas but he turned them all down. So. That was nice."

"How much do you wanna bet it's just nerves?" Luke says with a smirk on his face.

I slowly shake my head. "No more bets."

"Aww, why not? I thought you liked our last date-- I mean, hang out..." He trailed off.

"What'd you say?"

"... I thought you liked our last hang out?"

"No, you said date..."

He pauses and I see his cheeks turn a light shade of pink. "That just... slipped."

I shrugged it off. But I did want to know... kind of.  I opened the car door, about to get in, when Luke stops me. "So, uh, do you have a date to prom?"

"No. I might just third wheel with Sky and Thomas if no one asks me. What about youuu? Have you found someone yet?"

"Nope. But I'm planning on asking someone. I just need to come up with something creative."

"Well, she'll be a lucky girl." I flash a toothless smile and hopped into the driver's seat.

*Half An Hour Later*

I was on my way to work but decided to stop at the Starbs to grab a refresher. I head inside and stood in line. After the woman in front of me finally finished ordering, I stepped up to the counter and waited until the cashier was ready for me to order.

"Sorry about that, what can I get started for you?"

"Hi, could I please get a grande mango black tea lemonade, aaand a grande cool lime refresher."

"Of course, is that all for you today?"

"Umm," I paused for a second, then I decided to get my manager something else. "Also a birthday cake pop." Gotta make sure she's in a good mood.

"Can I get a name?"

"Evelyn."

"Okay Evelyn, your total will be $15.82." She says as she hands me my cake pop in a small paper bag.

I hand in a twenty and she quickly gives me my change. I stepped aside for the person behind me and while doing so, I accidentally bumped into a tall figure and a muscular build. I quickly turn around to meet eyes with a familiar face, but I couldn't pick out where.

"Oh man, I'm so sorry."

"No, that was my fault, I wasn't being aware of my surroundings. Hey, you seem really familiar. Do you go to Silveroak High?"
