Sky's POV.
I walked through the door with my dress on a hanger. I fumbled with it trying to keep it off the ground.
"Oooh, is that your dress?" My mom asked once she saw me.
"No, this is a puppy I found on the way home from the mall. Can we keep it? Please?" I sarcastically asked.
"You know, you don't always have to be sarcastic." She shook her finger at me.
"Well, when people ask obvious questions, they get sarcastic answers."
"Anyway, I want to see the dress." She excitedly replied, following that she chanted "Fashion show, fashion show."
I walk into the downstairs bathroom and quickly change.
"Oh, you look so pretty. And you were thinking about not going." She says in a "I knew I was right" tone.
"Thanks mom."
"So, who's your date?" She asks leaning on the counter.
"Don't have one." I reply, looking down at my phone.
"What? Why not?"
"Because, one; no one has asked me, and two; I don't care enough to ask someone else."
"Oh, come on! I bet there is someone who is dying to ask you," She points at me. "What if William asks you?"
"First of all, ew. Second of all, he isn't even going to be here for prom anyway."
William is a kid who used to live pretty close to me. His oldest brother was friends with my brother so I've pretty much known him my entire life.
"Hey, William's a nice kid."
"Yeah, but he's also annoying, and loud. Anyway, I am going to change." I state, walking back to the bathroom.
"No! Wait let me get a picture." She takes her phone out.
"Mom," I whine. "You did the same thing with Bennett. He got his graduation gown two months in advance and you took like twenty pictures! You can take all the picture you want on the day of prom." I say, walking away.
The rest of the day was very uneventful.
*The next day*
Ugh. Monday.
I walk into the high school, going straight to my group of friends.
"Hey guys." I say.
The conversation continues until the bell for first period rings.
Eve and I walk towards our lockers, grabbing what we needed for the first part of the day.
"So, did your mom like the dress?" Eve asked.
"Yeah, she made me change into it and then proceeded to ask who my date was." I answer.
"What did you say?"
