Chapter 22

Sky's Pov

"Okay, you ready?" I ask Drew.

"No, not at all."

"Great, you can do this."

"Did you not just hear me?"

"No, I did. I'm just choosing to ignore it because it was negative."

"Please, you turn everything negative."

"Yup. Come on, you got this." I pull out my phone to text Eve.

Go time

"Okay, well, what are you planning to do? How are you going to ask her?"

"Um..walk over there and ask?"

"What? That's your plan? If that is all you're going to do then why did you have all of us come here?"

"Moral support?"

"No no no no. I will not accept that."

Scratch that Drew doesn't have a plan.

A couple moments later Thomas and Eve walk around the corner.

"What do you mean 'he has no plan?'" Eve whisper-yelled.

"He was going to walk over there and just ask."

"Dude." Thomas says with a disappointed face.

"Okay, Eve you take Drew somewhere and get something ready, we'll keep Becca busy so she doesn't realize you guys are gone."

Eve nods her head and yanks Drew in the direction of the door.

Thomas and I walk towards Becca, who is reading the description of a piece of glass art.

"Isn't this so cool? Hey, where's Eve and Drew?"

"Well so much for keeping her from noticing." Thomas mumbles.

I elbow him in the ribs as I try and think of an excuse.

"Will you stop that!? I'm gonna have a bruise because of how many times you did that today." He complained.

"Um, I think Eve couldn't find her phone so Drew went with her to look in her car." I lie.

"Oh, should we go-"

"No, that's fine they've got it." I quickly say. "Hey! They added a, uh, um a thing! We should go find it." I grab her hand and pull her the other way.

"A thing?" She asks.

"Yeah, the uh," I look around trying to find inspiration. Looking over her shoulder I see a poster for a new gallery, showing "Modern glass." Wow, they actually added a new thing.

"The modern art section." I finish.

"Okay... um, we'll go in a minute, I have to go to the bathroom."
