Eve's POV.
Becca paces back and forth in my bedroom while I lay on my stomach on my memory foam mattress.
"I knew it, I should've never asked. He probably doesn't even wanna go with me, I don't know what I was thinking. He's probably gonna end up going with some other girl, who's WAY prettier and WAY smarter than me, and then they're gonna hit it off and then they're gonna get married and have children together, and---"
I cut her off before she could go on and sit up. "Becca. Stop. Ranting. He probably ran away because he needed to pee really bad, or he had to feed his cats before they scratch his eyes out...?"
"OR he doesn't want to go to prom with me...??" She replied, still pacing back and forth nervously sighing. Jesus this girl is gonna be the death of me. Unless Drew or Sky end up killing me first.
Before I could reply to her complaints, I hear a knock at the door. Becca stops pacing and furrowed her eyebrows. I rolled off my bed and trotted downstairs. I peep through the eye hole to see who it was and excitedly opened the door.
"Aili!" I gasped, opening the door wider so she could come in.
"Hey bitch!" She greets, walking in and taking her white vans off. She was holding a plastic bag with a pink box inside.
"I'm glad you're here, but uhh... why are you here?" I asked, with a slight chuckle.
"I figured you might want some donuts. Besides, I couldn't eat all of this myself and I have no friends to share them with." She laughs, setting them down on my counter top. "Where's your dad?"
"Date night." I said, taking a powdered, jelly-filled donut. Then, Becca rushes downstairs with her bag dangling from her shoulder.
"Leaving, Becca?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah. Hey Aili!"
Aili waves at her with donut crumbs cascading down her body.
"Welp. Later!"
"Wait, Becca." I took a glazed donut from the box and headed towards the door. "Don't stress about it too much. Things will happen by itself." I handed her the donut and she gives me a reassuring smile. I close the door and head back to the kitchen.
"Have yOU SEEN. THE NEW KID?!" Aili exclaims, scrolling through Instagram. I sat on the couch opposite of her, crossing my legs. "I didn't even know there was a new kid. Why?"
"Bro, he is hot as fuck." She goes on his page and taps on a selfie to show me. Oh my god. That's the Starbucks barista.
"Oh, he works at Starbucks. You're welcome."
"Bitch, I can't go after him. I have a boyfriend. I was talking about you."
"I'm not in a rush for someone, Aili. Sure he's cute, but I'm more interested in personality." Aili gives me a, "are you for real" look and I just flash her a smile, followed by a giggle.
"It's getting late. I'm gonna head home. See ya at school tomorrow." She slips on her vans and heads out. I hear the door shut and I go over to lock it.
