Chapter 9

Eve's POV.

"Okay, so after we paid for popcorn, snacks and drinks, we went in and sat down in our seats. There were still commercials going on so I decided to pull out my phone and turn it off, when I saw 12 messages. AHEM AHEM..." I glare at the phone and at Sky, both of them probably feeling guilty. I can't tell emotions over the phone unless they're speaking.

"Anyways, eventually the movie started, and to answer your questions; no, he didn't fall asleep during the movie, yes he was nice to the person at concessions, no we didn't kiss, I teared up a bit during a scene in the movie but I don't think he noticed, I don't think he cried, and no he didn't do that super cliché move where he yawns and puts his arm around me. After the movie, we walked out and I said, 'That. Was the best. Spider-Man movie. I've ever seen' and he replied saying he thought the original was better with Tobey Maguire, and I obviously disagreed with him. But at some point we locked eyes and I tried my best not to blush but yeah. Oh also he asked if I needed a ride because he didn't want to leave me by myself, but I turned him down and Sky picked me up. So yeah. Think I covered everything."

At this point, I feel like Aili has melted in place and Sky's face will definitely rip open if she smiled any further. It was silent because they were still getting over the fact that I went on my first date.

"... guys.... hello?? Any thoughts??"

"Fricken amazing. Cute. So cute I can't handle anything anymore." Aili replies.

"I... don't have words... literally. No words." Sky blankly says. I'm hoping that's a good thing...?

"Okay well it happened and we're done talking about this." Sky frowned in reply.

"So how's your love life, Aili?" Sky asks, turning her attention to the phone. Aili's silent for a while, hesitating to answer. "We broke up."
Me and Sky look at each other, stone-faced.

"What?"

"What happened?"

"It's a long story."
She sounded like she was on the verge of crying so I don't force it more.

"Uh, who's down for frozen yogurt?"

"But it's almost 7:00."

"Yeah, well I'm in the mood for fro-yo."

"Anytime is fro-yo time." Aili cheers.

"You sure your dad won't go bizerk if you went out without him knowing?"

"It's not like I'm sneaking out to get fro-yo. I'll tell him."

"What about Daxton?"

"We'll just take him with us. DAX!" I call, but not receiving a response like always. I roll my eyes and scurry to his room.

"Bro. We're going out. Put on some socks." I throw a pair of white socks at him and he screams and tries dodging it but fails. I swear my mom had a girl but named her after a boy.

"Where?"

"Menchies."

"Why?"
