Sky's POV

I pull into Thomas' driveway and quickly texted him notifying him of me being there. Minutes passed until Thomas ran out the front door with his bag hanging in the crook of his elbow, his hair a mess, and a pop-tart in between his teeth.

"You take forever," I mumble as I back out of his driveway.

"Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't fall asleep until like 4 am, so I slept through my alarm."

"Why?"

"I decided that it would be a great idea to leave my English essay for the last minute."

"Oh, who do you have?"

"Roberts."

"Oof."

"Yup." He nodded his head before leaning it against the window and closing his eyes.

The car goes quiet with only my playlist coming through the speakers at a low volume. I hear a soft snore causing me to look over at the sleeping boy next to me. I smiled at the sight.

'Awww that's cute-wait'

I catch myself in thought before I realize what song is playing.

"What is this feeling, so sudden and new? I felt the moment I laid eyes on you."

I rolled my eyes, quickly reaching my hand out and turning the volume knob all the way down.

The rest of the car ride was quiet and went by quick. I pulled into the parking space. I looked over at the sleeping boy, gently shaking his shoulder to wake him up. He groaned and swatted my hand away from him.

"Come on." I nudge his arm again.

"I don't wanna!" He protested, sounding like a five-year-old.

"It's high school! No one wants to go." I grab my backpack from the back seat and slung it over my shoulder, looking back at Thomas who was now trying to fix his hair in the mirror.

I walk with Eve towards the choir room, only to be greeted by a locked door. A senior that was walking by stopped when she saw us.

"It's a sub today. She doesn't let kids stay in at lunch."

"Thanks. Great, now we actually have to go to the cafeteria." I complain.

As soon as we walk into the lunchroom I look around trying to find an empty table. I knew there was no chance to actually find one but might as well try. Although, during my scan, I find Thomas and Luke, sitting at a table with two, conveniently, empty seats next to them.

"Hey, right over there." I grab Eve's arm and point towards the boys. We walk over and stop by the table.

"What are you guys doing here? I never see you guys in here." Luke questions.

"Choir room is closed for today. Can we sit with you guys?" I ask, gesturing to the empty seats next to them. They nod their heads and we take our seats. Eve next to Luke and me next to Thomas.

We talk about random topics and Thomas pulls an orange out of his backpack. He starts to peel it into tiny pieces and I grab it from his hand. "No!" I yell. Some people turn around and look at me funny, as Eve just puts her head in her hands.

"What?"

"Do you even know how to peel an orange? You do it in one piece! Not a billion little ones." I explain while peeling the orange.

"Aww, look! Thomas needs his girlfriend to peel his oranges. How cute." Randy, someone from the football team, says teasingly before laughing and walking away.

I bring my arm back preparing to throw the orange at the back of his head, but Thomas grabs my arm and takes his lunch back from me. "Please don't throw my lunch. This is literally the only thing I could grab this morning."

I scowl and bring my arm back down. "Fine. He's lucky I'm feeling nice today." I grab the orange back from Thomas and finish peeling it before handing it back to him.

Reaching into my own backpack I grab my lunch which consists of just an apple. "I woke up late today too." I laughed.

"I still can't believe you were gonna throw an orange at him," Thomas laughs as we walk towards my car.

"He can't claim to be the best wide reciever if he can't catch an orange." I defend.

"It's kinda hard to catch something that you cant see."

"I mean I guess," I mumble, rolling my eyes. He chuckles a little before looking at me. "What?" I ask.

"You have an eyelash on your cheek." He reached his hand forward and brushed his hand under my eye. "Make a wish." He held his hand out with an eyelash laying on his finger.

I raised an eyebrow at him, "No, you make one." I gently moved his hand towards him as he quickly blew the eyelash off his finger. "What did you wish for?"

"Well if I told you that, it wouldn't come true." He smirks causing me to roll me eyes.

"Do you seriously believe in all that? Let me guess, you also believe that a black cat crossing your path is bad luck? Same with breaking a mirror?" Or that a fat man in a red suit comes down your chimney at Christmas time and leaves presents for you to open or coal if you're bad?"

"Hey, don't talk about Santa like he doesn't exist." He points a finger at me and says in a completely serious voice even though I could tell he was joking.

I laugh at his actions and he joins in. "You're a dork, you know that?" He rolls his eyes in response. "Seriously tell me what you wished for." I poke his arm, hopping to annoy him into telling me. He grabbed my arm and looked at me.

"I'll tell you if and/or when it comes true."

I let out a sigh, a smile still present on my face. "Get your ass in the car." I turn around and get into the drivers seat with Thomas sitting next to me, I pull out of the parking space and start the drive home.
