Sky's POV
"Guys we sang this song in middle school! Why are we practicing this so hard? It's already twenty times better than when we last sang it." I complain.
"Because," Aili started, "when we were in middle school we sounded like a high school choir, now, since we're in high school we need to sound like forty of the best singers in the world got together to sing this."
Just as she finished, the bell rang and we all began leaving the room.
Mrs. Everton started off class by playing E on the piano and having us hum along.
"Okay, now basses and tenors stay on that note, and I want altos to go a fifth below and sopranos to go a fifth up."
Everyone quickly finds their new note.
"Cool! I wanted to see how fast you could do that." She laughs. "Jazzy! Warm-ups."
Jazzy gets off the risers and walks to the piano.
We sang through our pieces about 4 times each, each time tweaking something slightly.
I walk into English, taking my new seat. I take out my notebook and everything else I thought I would need for the lesson that day.
Just before the bell rings and everyone is in their seats, the sub walks into the room.
"Okay... I'm going to assume everyone is here." He says, as the bell rings.
People look around the room nodding their heads.
"Okay then, um, so your teacher left some notes on what to do. And as I understand it, you guys have a book to read and then a worksheet?" Everyone nods in response. "Wow, this class must be boring." He says making people laugh.
"Okay well I'm going to let you guys read and do the worksheet thingy, and when you're done just... I don't know, play on your phone or talk or something."
I stand up and start walking to the front of the room to grab a worksheet as I had already read the chapters it was covering.
"Oh hey, can you get me one?" I hear from behind me. I turn around to see Luke looking at me with his arm out stretched.
"No." I turn around and walk to the front of the room grabbing two papers and walking back to my desk, placing one of the papers on Luke's desk.
"Thanks."
"Welcome." I mumble, quietly starting on the worksheet.

"Well, we had a sub today in English, so it was pretty boring." I say to Eve as we walk out of the school. "Oh! I totally forgot to tell you; You know the Browns Point Diner?"
"No."
"Okay then. Anyway, Pepper had to leave because her husband got a job in Ohio, Pepper was one of a waitresses, and since we're family friends with the owner and I could literally navigate that place blindfolded thanks to how many times I've been there, he offered me a job there! My first shift is tomorrow after school." I explained happily.
