Eve's POV.
"Who was that?" I asked, after Sky came back from answering the door.
"Thomas, his car broke down and I'm going to take a look at it."
" OoOoOoh, Thomas? Wait, you're leaving me to bake cookies by myself?" I whine.
"It's just going to be a couple minutes, you can take a break if you want to." She says, walking away from the kitchen.
Yay. So great. I take a look at myself and see that I'm all covered with flour, from head to toe. Damn Sky why you gotta be so clumsy?!
I continue to mix everything together, until it was all stirred and doughy. I grabbed a small chunk of it and started rolling it in my hands."Hey Eve." I jump out of unexpectedness. I turn my head to see who it was.
"Luke! Hey, what're you doing here?"
"Why are you covered in flour?"
"My question's more important."
"Fine. You win. Thomas' car broke down while driving back to his house, and it just happened to break down in front of Sky's house."
"Right, yeah. Uhh, I'm gonna guess Sky made you come in and bake cookies with me?"
"Actually, she invited me. Thomas made me." He makes his way over to me, and casually leans against the counter.
I chuckled softly. "You didn't have to. I would've been fine on my own." No I wouldn't.
"Really? You would've been fine?"
"Luke! Are you questioning my ability to bake?!" I over dramatically gasp. Theatre kid, ya know?
He laughs at me. "No, I could never."
"I will have you know, I bake excellent brownies!"
"Well, I'd have to be the judge of that sometime."
We both laughed at his comment, then it went silent for a moment. And... I'm gonna break it. "So, did you come here to flirt with me or help me bake cookies?"
"Why can't I do both?"
"C'mon, let's finish the job."
"Okay. But I'm warning you now that I'm not a baker, nor a good one."
"Don't worry. I learned from the best."
•••
After we put the third batch of cookies in the oven, I realized I don't think I've ever made so many cookies at once.
"I don't think I've ever tasted something so delicious in my entire life." Luke moans, taking another bite of the cookie.
"Okay, chill. You only get one."
"Why?" He whines.
"Because I don't know if Sky will let you have any more."
