I sat up this morning feeling refreshed and as woke as can be. I stretched and yawned at the same time. Noticing something I didn't wake up from one of my dreams. I slept a whole night safe and sound without waking up by my own subconscious repetitions.
Tuesday morning is already off to a good start. I quickly went into the bathroom, took a shower, changed into a pair of black jeans and a sweat shirt. I didn't want Jonah waiting this morning so I made sure to move as fast as possible today.
As i stepped from the bathroom Jonah was still fast asleep on his bed. That's odd I thought but I wasn't complaining after all he couldn't be a dick in his sleep could he? Not bothering to wake him I opened the room door leaving a sleeping Jonah.
This morning only a few of the other foster kids were downstairs minding their own business. Ms.Brown was over the hot stove making us breakfast. It was really great that she had used her own house to house a few teens who had no where to go or nobody to turn to.
I liked her she was warm and friendly. She gave off the kind of vibe that said 'I don't care who you are I accept you as is.' She was like a mother to all of us here. We all had respect for the woman. The other partners were her friends who basically helped out around here when they could.
Other than being the mother like figure for like thirty teenage kids she was also a lawyer. We didn't communicate much not that I communicate with anybody but whenever she did she always managed to make me smile.
She turned around with a bright smile on her face greeting me. "Good morning dear" she chirped. "Mornin' Maam" I greeted politely. "Would you like some bacon or eggs" she asked. I was really hungry but neither felt satisfying at the moment.
"I don't eat anything from pigs and I don't really like eggs sorry."
"Its okay dear" she said nonchalantly "there's cereal in the fridge if you'd like some."
CEREAL!! Yes that's exactly what I needed right about now. "Sure I responded I'll make myself a bowl."The crunchy cereal felt so good as I kept on shoving spoonfuls into my mouth until the bowl was clean. Ms.Brown just stood around the counter amused by me. I actually went for a second serving which she didn't mind at all. Seconds later more and more kids came from their rooms and from upstairs.
When I was almost about to finish my cereal a girl came up beside me sliding into the stool opposite of mine. She looked familiar but not like we'd met before but like she was here all along but I paid no attention to her type of way.
She stretched her small dainty lips into a smile while I just stared at her. She was short like really short, she had waist length red hair and pitch black eyes. She was somewhat intimidating but at the same time gorgeous.
My eyes left hers for a minute and I checked the time. It was time for me to get to school. This morning while walking Jonah wasn't here to insult me so I just listened to music while I walked to school. School made me think of people, people made me think of friends, friends made me think about Miles.
All this time I was looking around just hoping he'd pop in out of no where but that didn't happen instead I was greeted by chatty teenagers and busy teachers roaming the halls. Miles would always be at school before me,he was always waiting for me by my locker. But not today instead I was greeted by the oh so great feeling of emptiness.
"Whatever who needs Miles anyways?"I hissed under my breath while making my way towards class. Even though History class was absolutely boring I tried to pay attention just to keep my mind from thinking about Miles again. I couldn't though I just couldn't. I don't even know why I cared this much he was probably just busy.
Too busy to assure his friend that he was okay and still living? I thought. Sure it was cause that's what friends do nowadays I thought with sarcasm. The day went by in a blur with me going to classes ,looking all over for Miles without any luck and going to more classes. I skipped lunch today just to search for him in case he came to school late or something. Not that I usually ate so that wasn't a big deal anyways also I'd look like more of a loser eating by myself in the cafeteria.
Miles had other friends so I sought out to find them to find out what was going on but to my dismay nobody had seen him since Friday. You just haven't seen him in a day why the heck are you acting like this a voice in my head questioned?
Because I care. It may only be a few hours but this isn't like him. You've only known him for three months it said back. Fair point but I don't care something's definitely up that I seem to be clueless about.

Wednesday passed no Miles,Thursday no Miles. Today's Friday and it's safe to say that I don't expect to see him here today either. I walked down the hall to the far end of school to get a few things from my locker and to leave
my phone. I never carried it to class with me.What was at my locker surprised me more than the school bell ringing loudly through the speakers above me. Pressed up on my locker was Miles patiently waiting. Oh! So he's not dead I thought. Good to know. I was in no mood whatsoever to talk to Miles however.
He technically went MIA on me for a week! Shuffling uncomfortably I walked over to my locker jerking open the door flinging in my book with as much attitude as my body could give off right now. "Oh! Hey Miles it's nice to see you after you practically ran off leaving me by myself the whole week" he mimicked my voice.
I sighed "dramatic much?" He smiled back at me. His presence was bothering me right now and I don't like being bothered so I slammed the locker door shut with absolute power and anger. He trailed behind my calling for me to stop and talk to him.
He finally got a hold of my arm which I was swinging angrily. "Let me explain" he said. "Let you explain?" I spat out "let me think about that - hmmm no." "I have a class to go to and you have places to run off to leave me alone Miles." And with that I walked off to class. Avoiding him for the remainder of the day
