Another Monday morning I thought as I eased out of bed lightly. The window was left slightly ajar last night and so now the sun shone directly through the small part in the window.

For a moment I just wanted to stare at it and admire the bouncing light but I couldn't so I got up from bed anyways looking up at the clock to check the time. It was 8:06. Crap! I muttered I'm so late.

Out of no where I heard a slight groan coming from Jonah's bed. Jonah was awake. "Are you just going to stand there and stare at me all day Shay?" "Oh yes Jonah because there aren't better things I'd rather do" I spat back rolling my eyes in sync.

"I know darling,' he winked a smile tugging at his lips. Did he Jonah something(she doesn't know his last name) just called me darling ?I continued to stare at him this time more intensely and in return so did he as if he was challenging me but without words. This little stare-off show down thing was going on for a mere 15 seconds before a smile broke out unto Jonah's lips.

His smile was captivating,it was warm and friendly and overall genuine it's hard to see any of those smiles any more really. "You know Jonah you should smile more often it fits you." "Is that a compliment ?"

"Maybe it is maybe it's not" I replied. "What would you call it ?" I asked. "A
compliment" he replied. "There's your answer, anyways since we're late for school do you want to not go?" he asked.
"Ummm sure I'd rather not anyways. So what are we doing?"

"Take a shower were going out he" replied. "Okay then give me forty five minutes" I shouted back while heading into our bathroom. "You have 20 minutes make it work" he shouted back . "One does not simply get ready in 20 minutes Jonah" I replied. "Well if one wants to stay at home couped up in her room for the remainder of the day one can take all the time they need as long as I use the bathroom first." He answered back.

"Your wasting time go" he added. Surprisingly I managed to bathe in fifteen minutes. For my outfit seeing as it's just a Monday  and I don't know exactly where were headed my outfit consisted of a knee length floral dress,a pair of flats and my hair braided down in two.

As soon as I exited the bathroom Jonah bolted up from the edge of his bed entering the bathroom. After about fifteen minutes of waiting Jonah stepped out from the bathroom in a pair of black pants, a grey T-shirt that hugged his muscular arms perfectly, his raven colored hair styled to the side and a pair of grey shoes. He looked casual and I felt under dressed.

Standing up I walked over to him asking "Jonah is this okay or would a pair of jeans look better?" "You honestly look terrible take that off and put on something more casual."

Oh at least he's honest I thought. Quickly I changed into a pair of incised jeans, a grey blouse and sandals. This time I stepped out not saying a word. "You look better so lets go." We both walked in silence until we were halfway from home.

"Soooo Jonah," "soooo Shay" he repeated. "Where are we going" I asked slightly curious just in case he was carrying me to my death. "You'll see" he smirked. As we walked together my mind  actually felt calm and  relaxed not tired and frustrated. It was definitely a good feeling.

When we finally arrived in the town we went down a very sketchy isle and then around a corner. The corner lead to an unfamiliar part of town that I've never been to before. The place was busy with people walking up and down and cars driving on the road every now and again.

This is as actually an awesome place once you get to used to it if we ever return that is. "Where are we going to" I asked again. "Just up the road follow behind me and don't get lost" he instructed me. "Lost? Really I'm fifteen for pineapple's sake."

"Pineapple's sake?" He asked. "Yeah I like pineapples and instead of saying Christ it's a really good substitute you know just to change it up a bit." "Oh that's cool" he answered. Within seconds we were at the door of a very small shop.

There was no sign to tell me where exactly Jonah carried me to. "Jonah where are we?" I stuttered. "You'll see" he smirked while pushing open the big brass door to reveal an old worn down place. It was full of books and posters.

"It's a comic book store Shay." "Really!" Amazing I answered. "Your not being sarcastic are you?" he pondered. "No not at all I actually use to read a lot of comics when I was smaller" I answered.
"Me too I mean I still do" he said. "What was your absolute favourite comic as a child?" he questioned.

Letting out a small giggle I replied "Calvin and Hobbes and Archie Comics." "Not bad Matthews" he smirked a glint of amusement present in his eyes. "Hey! What was yours?" I asked. "Never had a favorite I loved most of them, comics actually helped me to read better because I wasn't an excellent reader back then and I was interested in what was always going on so I pushed myself and eventually I was able to read a comic strip properly."

Moving around the store I located a section at the back of the store where I found a huge stack of Calvin and Hobbes special edition books. This would've been my childhood heaven. Then it suddenly dawned on me this place didn't seem to have an employee and I didn't have any money at all to buy a comic if I wanted one.

"Jonah where's the employee?" "I don't know really this is my second time here and the first time I didn't stay long so I really don't at all if one works here." For minutes I sat on a big chair in the store flipping page after page while smiling.

Over the other side of the store Jonah did the same. "Humph!Humph!" I heard looking up an elderly man about 70 years old stood at the back of the store leaning against a brown door frame. How did I not realize that door was there!

"May I help you he asked sweetly?" "We're just looking but if it's not okay we can leave" Jonah answered with a straight face. "Nonsense!" the old man exclaimed. "Rarely anyone comes around here and stays long enough."

"I don't see why really in here's really cool and chill unlike most teenage infested places" I told him. He smiled at this. "You guys are free to stay as long as you want and read whatever you want and if you buy something even better" he stated.  "I don't have any money" sorry sir I stated.

"Surely your boyfriend here can buy it for you?" "Who" I asked? "Him" he stated pointing to Jonah. "Jonah?" I  choked out over my laughter. "He's not my boyfriend sir." "He's not, really? Could have fooled me" the old man replied. He then returned to whatever he was doing behind that door leaving us in the room staring  awkwardly at each other.

"Ready to go?" Jonah said breaking the silence. "We probably should" I answered. We told the old man goodbye and we were on our way walking back around the corner and back up the aisle.

We stopped on our way back home to get pineapple slices which I really really really enjoyed. "Wow you really love pineapple" Jonah said amused. "Well Obviously genius" I  shook a slice of pineapple in my hand. When we were finally back home on the steps it was 4:30pm and I would say it was a day well spent.

Jonah and I went inside, took showers and chilled out in our bedroom for the rest of the evening. I decided to go to bed early tonight but before I fell asleep I called out Jonah's name. He groaned before answering with a sleepy yes. "Thanks for today  it was really awesome."

"Yeah whatever go to sleep" he muttered.
