I stirred in the bed hoping to find a soft pillow to grab unto buy instead my hand landed on a rather hard surface compared to a pillow. The surface felt kind of like a baguette and I realized that it could possibly be a snake and so my body jerked up the second that thought appeared into my brain.

I was up but like always I can't seem to open my eyes when I'm awake so I had to repeatedly rub them until they opened. I was facing my door and so I gently spun around. When I did my hand had landed on another flat surface except it wasn't really a flat surface it was a human.

My hand was just above his area and below his abdomen. I immediately removed my hand. I was just glad that Jonah wasn't awake as yet because I don't think I'd ever hear the end of it if he was to see what happened. He was fully clothed and a breath I didn't even know I was holding escaped my mouth.

"Hey Jonah, do you think this school year will be better than last year?"

"Don't know, and honestly as long as it gets me one small step closer to leaving this place then boom I couldn't care less if it was better, worse or the exact same."

"When you say get out of this place what do you mean?" I asked him .

"I don't know I've been saving to buy a motorcycle so by graduation I'll have it and I'll just go wherever my bike takes me after I've graduated."

"It's hard to believe in a couple of months we'll be graduating huh?"

"Yup, but I'm not one for the sentimental hoo-hah so graduation will just be another day for me."

"I think its the same for everyone who lives in this home seeing as we don't have families to cheer us on and to pay for our college tuition fee. For all I know after high school I could be a prostitute on the street selling myself." I had replied nonchalantly.

"No you won't, I'm surprised colleges haven't started chasing you down as yet to have you attending there."

"Why would colleges want to chase me down for anything? I'm not even smart."

"That's true you aren't smart ; you're brilliant and you've always been since the eight months that I've known you for."

A small blush had formed on my cheeks and I used my hand to block off the cheek that Jonah could see and stared out the window. The trees blurred by and the sky looked extra blue today . The music in the car was playing from my phone and I occasionally repeated the lyrics or bobbed my head to the songs.

I felt a hand on my wrist. Jonah's face was still on the road and his other hand was driving . "Look, you didn't have to come today but you insisted so I'd like to say that its good that you're here with me."

"Sooo,in other words you're just trying to say thanks?" I questioned .
"Yeah that." Jonah had replied back at me. "Well, in that case you're most welcome its what friends do right?" Saying the words friends to describe my relationship between Jonah was somewhat foreign but It's not like I could have changed what I had said to him now could I?

"Yeah--" and Jonah paused before speaking again "friends." It was as if it was foreign for him to say it too. The air got somewhat awkward and I was relieved when my phone started ringing ,however, I wasn't too happy with the caller but it could by anything so I removed my phone from the USB and held the phone to my ears.

"What do you want ?" I had practically barked into the phone.
"A chance and fifteen minutes that's it." Miles answered back to me.
"One chance. That's all you get and its your last one so make use of it wisely." I replied back at him.
"Thank you so much I promise I won't waste it."
