Chapter 2: Starting Off With A Bang

Alex's P.O.V.

"Alex! Time to get up." I heard Remus say from my door. I waved my hand at him groggily.

"Uhhh five more minutes." I said barely audible. I heard him laugh and come in my room. I rolled over on my back and pulled the covers over my head.

"Alex come on." He said nudging me.

"Nooo go away."

"Alex, don't make me get the ice water." He said still laughing.

"Do it and I'll crucio you." I mumbled.

"Pity. I guess you don't want to see Severus this year. Well it will be hard but I'll brake the news-" I sprang up.

"I'm up!" I crashed into something hard and fell back holding my Head. then I heard a thud.

"Owww." I looked down at Remus who was on the floor doing the same thing.

"Sorry!" I apologized.

"Well I was right," He said getting up. "you are hard headed."

"I resent that." I folded my arms over my chest.

"You can't you have no grounds. Plus I have the bruise to prove it. Now come on I've made breakfast already."

"I'm coming." I threw the covers off and jumped out of bed. When I walked to the kitchen Remus was already seated and reading the paper. "Let me see." I said. He knew what I was talking about and he lowered the news paper. When he did I noticed a couple of scratches but nothing serious.

"I'm fine."

"I see that. Better than yesterday anyway." I took my seat across from him and grabbed the cup of coffee he had already poured for me. Taking a sip, I savoured it. "I think I'm going to miss this most of all." He lowered his paper and gave me a look of mock hurt.

"And here I thought I was more important than hot water and crushed beans."

"You're a close second if that helps."

"Not really no." We both laughed and ate our breakfast. "Have you packed everything?"

"Yep."

"No you haven't." I looked at him questioningly.

"Ummm pretty sure I have." He held up his finger to me, left the kitchen, and went down the hall. When he came back he had a small rectangular wrapped gift in his hand.

"One more thing."

"Remus you didn't need to-"

"Look at it before you say anything. I didn't spend a lot of money I promise." I took the gift from his hand and unwrapped it. When I saw what it was I was a little confused. It was a picture in a beautiful frame. In the picture was Sirius, Remus, and a couple holding a child. They were all laughing and playing with the child.

"Well, I know you and Sirius, but who are the others?" Remus came to my side and i looked up at him.

"Alex that's your Mother and Father, and the child is you. This photo was taken a week after you were born." Tears formed in my eyes as I stared down at my parents. My mother was beautiful. She had black hair just like me with black eyes. She was also pale like me, but she made it look amazing. My father resembled me as well. He was tall with blonde hair and bright blue eyes like mine. As I looked closer at him I found that we had the same know and lips. A few tears rolled down my cheeks and i looked back up to Remus. Without saying a word I wrapped my arms around him and gave him a big hug.
