Chapter 6: An Adventure In The Moonlight

Alex's P.O.V.

It's been two weeks and the wait of hosting quidditch trials was bearing down on me. But I was so excited I could die. I've made Marissa my co-captain, not because she's my best friend, but she's the best beater we have and can help me keep everyone in line. Plus she's a good planner, so that should come in handy. I headed to breakfast around eight this beautiful Saturday morning. The excitement bubbled in my stomach. Finally I could get back to quidditch. Marissa had already gone to the pitch to warm up. She'd be taking care of the beaters and keepers today. I would be instructing the seekers and chasers. I was happy to find out Draco would not be trying out this year. I didn't want to put up with his shit this year. He really wasn't even that good.

As I looked up i saw will come in dressed in one of the old uniforms we had for trials he carried his broom with him . As I sat down beside me I stared at him in shock. "You didn't tell me you were trying out!"

"Oh well I'm trying out." He said smirking as he filled his plate.

"Really I hadn't gathered that. I didn't even know you played."

"Well, i never have played on an official team. My position had always been permanently filled at my time at Durmstrang. There was no use in even trying."

"And what position would that be?"

"Seeker." He said while eating some sausage. I choked on my juice.

"Seeker? Well i can see why that would be a problem at Durmstrang."

"Yeah." Will said shrugging his shoulders. I finished up my breakfast decided I would go get warmed up. I had about an hour before trials began.

"Well I'll see ya out there." I said walking away and heading for the pitch. I had my firebolt in hand as I walked onto the field. Instantly my excitement grew and my adrenaline started pumping. I mounted the broom and kicked off hard. Soaring high into the air I enjoyed the freeness of this moment. I got as high as I could and pointed the end of my broom straight down. I hurtled toward the ground at dangerous speeds. Just before I hit the ground I pulled up and soared low to the ground.

"Nice one Alex. Good to see you back at it again." I heard M yell. I gave her a thumbs up just before I heard someone else yell.

"What the bloody hell Alex?!" I looked at will who had come beside me soaring slowly

"You mean this." I went high up and did it again. Will came to my side.

"YES THAT! Stop it your gonna kill yourself!" Now M joined us.

"Oh calm your shit Will she's been doing this since the first day Hooch put us on brooms."

"Yeah and plus if your gonna be a seeker your gonna have to do those kind of things so your better get used to it."

"Both of you are out of your damn mind."

"Thats why you love us!" I yelled speeding off. I went and picked up the quaffle deciding to practice a bit. I scared about twenty goals before I realized everyone was waiting on the ground and watching me. Well time to get his started. I sped to the ground and hopped off my broom. "Alright everyone. It's time to begin. As most fo you know I amt he new team captain since Jackson graduated last year and our new co is Marissa. We'll be splitting you guys up today. So M if you would go over ther we can get this started."
