"Why'd you do that?" I asked, somewhat feeling out of breath.
"I don't know. I just felt like I should, I guess." He smiled. "I'm gonna go. I don't want your dad to get pissed off at me."
I smiled, "Have a good night."
"You too," he whispered as he walked off the porch, and towards his running car.
I quietly closed the door, and let out a deep breath. My heart felt as if it was going to pound right out of my chest and land onto the floor that I was sitting on.Never had I ever felt such a mixture of emotions before. Never had I ever felt so happy about being with another person.

The days quickly passed. Soon enough, we were back to sitting in a classroom filled with people who I could not stand. Luckily, most of my friends were in my classes.
"New girl is totally getting checked out by half of the class." Kiera whispered.
"She'll get it soon," Camille murmured.
"I think they just like the whole innocent look," I whispered. "She looks so cute and put together. I think that's what they like, considering out school is filled with a bunch of.. Well, non innocent girls."
"That's true. But hey, I'm innocent! Why don't they love me?" Kiera groaned.
"You're just too great for them to handle," Alyssa giggled.
"Yeah, whatever Alyssa said." Camille whispered.
Surprisingly, the teacher didn't notice our constant conversations and gossiping. That, or se just really liked us and decided to just deal with us.
"The new guy is cute. Have you seen him?" Alyssa asked.
"Not at all. What does he look like?" I asked.
"You know, he actually looks so familiar. I just can't pin point it..." Kiera whispered.
"Right?!" Alyssa and Camille said in unison.
"Guys! I haven't seen him! What does he look like?" I exclaimed quietly.
"Well, he has rea-"
"Girls!" The teacher exclaimed with a serious tone, "Please pay attention! This is an important lesson."
"I thought she liked us," I whispered.
NICKS POV
The drive back to my old house was a long one. Longer than I expected, really. My parents were quiet for the majority of the ride, only speaking if they were hungry, or if they wanted that song on the radio changed. It wasn't so much tense as it was awkward.
I was constantly scrolling down my instagram feed and my text messages waiting for something to happen. Nothing did because everyone was at school.
"Almost here," my dad said cooly as he made a left turn.
It only took that one turn into our neighbourhood to cause me to panic. I took quick short breaths in attempt to fully fill my lungs, which felt as if they were losing air every second. I felt like I was gonna die.
My dad jerked the car to the side of the road, and my mom busted out of her seat to the back seats to assist me.
"Nicholas, are you okay?" She asked frantically. "Call the police! The ambulance!"
"I'm calling!" My dad screamed, worried.
"Nicholas! Look at me! Look at mom. Just calm down, okay? Just breathe! Deep breaths. Look, stare into my eyes, don't look anywhere else, okay honey?" She stared into my eyes, and that was the last thing I saw.
ARIANA'S POV
"I think our school stepped their game up with the lunch food," I stated as we walked to our lunch table.
"Yeah. I mean, aside from it looking like vomit, it's pretty good." Camille laughed.
"That's only because you mixed it all together!" Alyssa exclaimed.
"It'll be faster to eat! Just stuff a little bit of everything into your mouth at once, and boom, you're done in less than 10 minutes." Camille exclaimed.
"Personally, I like it just like this... But that's just me." I smiled.
"And me." Kiera and Alyssa replied in unison.
"You guys are just jealous that you didn't think of the brilliance I call mixed food."
"Guys, oh my goodness. Look!" Alyssa whispered, pointing behind me.
"Is it the new guy?!" I mouthed.
They all nodded, wide eyed and quiet.
I pretended to fix my hair and apply lipstick. Their eyes remained wide and they remained quiet.
I turned around quickly, and felt my heart stop.
"Ariana? Is that you?" He said.
"Yeah. Yeah! Nash?" I exclaimed. "You moved here?"
"Yeah, can I sit?" He asked.
"Yeah, of course." I whispered, scooting over on the bench.
"Hi, I'm Kiera. You can call me whatever you want, but i think you should just call me Kiera." Kiera smiled, keeping her arm out to shake.
"Nash.. You can call me Nash?" He chuckled.
"So how do you know Ariana?" Camille asked.
We looked at each other uncomfortably, before I finally answered.
"I dumped him." I laughed.
"Yeah, she dumped me." He shrugged.
Their eyes became wide once again.
"I knew he looked familiar." Kiera whispered.
NICKS POV
"Yeah, he just had a panic attack. It was probably triggered by the nostalgia of this area," the doctor said to my parents.
"He'll be fine?" My mom asked, arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed.
"We can't promise that exactly. It all depends on how he deals with this. I'm not sure if he'll be able to deal with anymore than this. Please don't panic, Mrs. Mara."
"Well, this was the first time this has happened." She whispered.
"I'll give you a brochure that contains some tips for dealing with the attacks. They shouldn't happen too frequently when you return home, but just incase."
"Thank you."
I sat up from the bed. I was sitting inside of a ambulance, surrounded by beeping machines. My mother gave me a sympathetic look, before helping me out of the ambulance and back into the car. I sat quietly, looking no where but at my shoes. Soon, I was joined by my parents.
"We can go back," My mom whispered.
"No." I replied.
"Are you sure? I have no problem driving back." My dad stated.
"Positive. Let's just.. Let's just go."
Again, I felt my heart beating uncontrollably. In the state that I was in, I was thinking of one thing, and one thing only; being able to hear Ariana's voice.
Just the thought of her calmed me down, to the point where I was at a normal heart rate, and I could breathe properly.
The affect she had on me was amazing.
