Just by saying those words, I watched Nick fall apart. The sides of his lips fell into a pout, and his eyes widened.
"We’re breaking up?" He managed to whisper.
"Let’s call it taking a break. Not so much breaking up," I shrugged. "You just need time to think about everything, Nick. Honestly, I think this relationship is too much for you at this time."
"Ariana, I’m fine."
"You’re really not, Nick. Don’t think I’m doing this for my benefit or anything because I really want us to work out." I sighed.
"I’ll change."
"Nick, think of this time as a thinking and changing time. I don’t want you to change entirely, but just your mindset I guess. You’re perfect the way you are, but I don’t think this relationship will work in these circumstances." I stated.
"This can’t be happening…" He whispered.
"Just think about everything, okay? No matter what, you’ll always be the one I think about anyway." I smiled.
He smiled back, “is this a farewell then?”
He stood up from my porch step and dusted the imaginary dirt off of his pants. Smiling, he helped my stand up.
"No, more of a: see you soon." I stated. "Definitely an: I’ll miss you a lot."
As he walked away, his hands pushed deep into his jean pockets and his head hung low, I realized what had just happened. I had yet to know what was to come of it.

The next morning went by quickly. It mostly consisted of my mom and I driving to a bunch of malls in hopes to find the perfect shoes to match my dress. We ended up finding a simple pair of nude heels. They looked so uncomfortable, yet they were so cute and perfect.
"Once we get home, you should start getting ready." My mom stated, keeping her eyes on the road.
"Yeah, I know." I replied.
"Are you excited to go?" she asked.
"Yeah," I stated.
"Do you need a ride?"
"Yeah."
"Do you know the address?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, just give it to me when we get home." She smiled.
"Okay," I said, deciding to change my reply.
We were back home before I could reply 'Okay' again. My mom dropped me off before pulling into the garage, so I could get into the house right away and start getting ready.
I raced up to my room, flicking on the shower, then jumping in in less than 2 minutes. Although there was no rush for me to get ready, I found myself rushing through my shower routine. I was done in less than 10 minutes.
Once I stepped out of the shower and into the cold abyss referred to as the rest of the washroom, I swiped at the foggy mirror. My reflection stared back at me, shivering, and hair wrapped ridiculously in a towl at the top of my head. I slowly paced into my room, locking my door on the way to my bed. I didn't want to risk my mom coming into my room while I was in a towel.
I immediately opened my closet, staring at the many dress that faced me. Just a simple black dress, that ended in a skater skirt. It was cute, yet extremely simple. I pulled it out and threw it onto my unmade bed. It folded up on the sides as it landed.
I walked back into the washroom, removing my towel and putting on a bath robe. I took my hair out of the towle and began brushing through it with a wide toothed comb.
