"What do you want for dinner?" My mom asked as she walked into my room.
"I'm not sure. Maybe we could go out to a resteraunt or something. We haven't done that in a while," I shrugged.
"That's actualy a good idea. Your dad is going to Steve's house to watch some game or something tonight, so it'll just be you and I." She smiled.
"That sounds like a good idea. I'd really enjoy that," I replied.
"Perfect," she stated as she walked out of my room. "30 minutes?"
"Alright."
I stood up from my desk and stretched up. I let out a few weird sounds as I reached.
Dinner with my mom would definitely get my mind off of everything. Maybe I could tell her what was up. She'd probably have such wonderful words of wisdom. All moms do, really.
I got ready quickly. Luckily, my hair still looked decent, and my face makeup needed minimal fix ups. I just put on a simple white peplum top, and a pair of light was skinny jeans. All in all, I was ready in less than 15 minutes. I was laying in my bed for the rest of the time, just responding to texts, and looking through my instagram feed.
"Will you be ready soon?" My mom hollered from her room.
"Already ready," I yelled back.
"It's a miracle!" She exclaimed as she strutted into my room.
She was wearing a royal blue flowy top, with a pair of white jeans. She had done her makeup in a different way, and her hair stayed straight, with minimal fly aways.
"Wow mom. Why are you so dressed up? I asked.
"I have to look nice, Ariana. If you look nice, I have to look nice as well."
I laughed, "Well, you look nice. Now, let's eat. I'm hungry."
We both walked down the stairs, and quickly went into our shared shoe closet. I chose my favorite, under worn beige flats, while my mom put on a pair of black pumps.
"So, where are we going?" I asked as I slipped on the flats.
"I called up one of my old friends to meet us. She requested to go to a restaurant in down town." My mom replied hesitantly.
"Oh, do I know her?" I asked.
"Yeah, you might."
"Who is it?"
"Oh, Elizabeth." She whispered.
"Elizabeth? Mom..." I groaned.
"I'm not sure if she's bringing her son, Ariana. Plus, you two are on good terms now, right?"
"It's fine, mom. I was just wondering." I smiled. "I just thought it was only gonna be us. That's it."
We got to the restaurant in no time. It wasn't as full and busy as I thought it'd be. I mean, it was a Friday night, and it wasn't that late, but it wasn't too early. The restaurant was dimly lit, which confused me a bit.
"I guess they like to conserve energy," I whispered to my mom as we got lead to our table.
"Ariana, don't say that." She whispered harshly.
"I'm just saying..." I mumbled.
As we approached the table, a bickering mother and son pair turned to look at us and smiled.
"I'll be back soon to get your drink orders," the waiter said as he walked back to help another table.
"Elizabeth!" My mom shrieked as they hugged.
