ARIANAS POV

As Kiera and I walked home, we decided to make a quick stop at the local target. Although it sounded strange, we always liked to hang out at Target, just walking around and browsing. Sometimes we'd even try on ridiculous outfits and just laugh at each other.

Today, we walked through the snack isles, trying to scope out new and exciting snacks that we could try. We ended up getting our same old, same old, chips and chocolate.

"We should apply here. We know where everything goes anyway," Kiera said as she pointed to the hiring sign.

"Work here? Most of the people working here look kind of miserable.." I whispered.

"Well, we won't be miserable. We could bring happiness to this work place! A little bam, a little boom."

"I'll think about it. But if you really want to, you can apply first. Once you get hired, you can recommend me, you know?" I suggested.

"That could actually work!" Kiera exclaimed.

We went to the check out lanes, paid for our snacks, then walked out of the store. My hair blew hard onto my face, making goose bumps form. I shivered, pulling my jacket hood onto my head.

"It wasn't supposed to be this cold," I stated as we got back onto the sidewalk.

"It wasn't supposed to be as warm as it was this morning. I guess it evens stuff out," Kiera shrugged. "Hey, how did you feel when you saw Nash? You looked like a deer in the head lights, literally."

"Thats only because I wasn't expecting it. I mean, it doesn't matter, really. It's just weird I guess." I giggled.

"That's such a coincidence... Seriously, what are the odds of your ex boyfriend moving to our school? How long did you two last? Like 3 months?"

"4 months. If Nick ever asks you, say 2 weeks." I stated, "I didn't want him to freak out and ask questions like he always does. It's better if he doesn't know."

"Why?"

"Because, when he gets jealous or something, he'll ask questions nonstop. Just constantly asking and asking about the person or the events. No answer is good enough when it comes to stuff like that." I sighed.

"Sounds a lot like you. Only thing that's different is that you contain the questions. As in, you don't say them out loud. At least he says them out loud so it gets out of the way."

We walked up my pathway, and I pulled out my key from my pocket. "That's true, I guess."

"I'm always right." She stated as we both walked in.

NICKS POV

I tried, I really did. I couldn't even look at the street, at the house, much less get out of the car. It was so hard to even just sit in the car because I'd be faced with the drive way. So many things happened on the drive way. First kiss, where I asked her out, where she said I love you first. I was supposed to say it first, but then I just couldn't spit it out.

I really wanted to walk in there and see her sitting on the couch, holding her puppy and watching Gossip Girl on Netflix. I wanted to walk in there and run into her room to see her painting a work of art onto a canvas. I just wanted to see her in person, just like before, just like always.

My parents left the car, constantly reassuring me that they'd be back soon. I nodded to them until they left. They just needed to explain the situation to Alexa's mom, so she wouldn't be disappointed that we didn't stay. They did in fact come back quickly. My mom held 3 cookies and a small black box.

"Alexa's mom baked cookies. We grabbed a few," My dad stated as he buckled in.

Hearing her name from someone else's mouth pierced through me.

"Also, there's a box." My mom smiled, handing it to me.

"What's in it?" I asked.

"Not exactly sure. Just open it when you're ready." My mom stated.

We backed out of the driveway, and back onto the main road to our hotel.

I didn't open the box.

ARIANAS POV

Kiera and I slouched onto the couch, chips in one hand, and math homework in the other. Although the homework was quite easy, we decided to work on it together so Kiera would have an excuse to come over. It was a pretty good plan until we realized that there were really only 3 more questions that we had to answer.

"After this, I'm gonna need a TV series to watch. My brain aches," I groaned.

"I thought you'd say like a warm bath, or soup or something." Kiera laughed. "I say you watch the Walking Dead."

"I already watch that. I wanna start Teen Wolf." I stated.

"Cute guys," she winked.

I nodded with a giggle. "One of the reasons why I wanna watch it."

"Hey, your phone is ringing. I bet it's Nick." Kiera said calmly.

I took my phone, sliding it to answer. "Hello?"

"Hi! How are you?" Nick asked.

"Good. Just here doing some homework and eating food with Kiera," I stated. "Gonna start watching a TV series soon."

"I heard Gossip Girl is good. I mean, I've heard. I wouldn't know.. It was Alexa's favorite show." He replied.

"I'll have to check it out. How is everything? I mean, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm great as of now. We're in a hotel right now, just chilling."

"That's good. Better than being at school." I laughed.

Kiera cleared her throat, pointing at the homework. "I have to go now. I got my homework to finish, plus I have to start a TV series. I'll tell you how Gossip Girl is." I whispered

"Sounds good. I'll call again tomorrow or something. Or later. Maybe you can call me or-"

"I'll try and call later, okay?" I laughed.

"Okay! Bye, have fun! I miss you!"

"You too. Miss you a lot!" I stated as I ended the call.

"Miss you a lot!" Kiera mocked as she rolled her eyes. "Couples."
