"I'm so happy everyone ended up leaving early," I stated as I helped Alyssa bring some of her gifts to her car.

"I'm glad they left before my parents saw all the people. I expected a lot of people, but not that many. I don't even know who was there to be honest."

"But hey, look at all of these gifts. You probably got a lot of good stuff," I stated as I referred to the trunk full of gifts.

"Yeah, I guess. But it would've been nice if there was the traditional thing, you know? I would've just enjoyed a small party with just close friends," she sighed.

"We can have a friend one! Invite ourselves to someone's house and buy you cupcakes or something," I replied. "Speaking of cupcakes, where did you get yours?"

"My mom got them, I'll ask her!"

"Guys, this place is a mess." Camille exclaimed as she switched on all of the lights.

"Are we expected to clean it up?" Kiera asked as she walked out of the washroom.

"Probably? I guess?" Camille whispered.

"I can't! My parents are already out there.. You know, maybe they'll clean it up. Come on guys, let's go." Alyssa said frantically.

"I'll stay behind and clean it up a bit. I'll find a ride home! Don't worry. Just go, okay?" Kiera stated as she began picking things up.

"I'll stay behind too. My mom will pick me up if I call her," I stated.

"Same," Camille smiled.

Alyssa let out a sigh, then looked towards the door. "I'll see if my parents will let me stay a bit to help you guys..."

Alyssa didn't come back. Her parents were probably in a rush to leave. I mean, the party did end an hour after it was supposed to.

"This place is horrible. I didn't think it'd be this bad," I whispered.

"Right?! Did we even have skittles here?! Why are there skittles everywhere?!?" Kiera yelled.

"At least there are more of us here so it'll go by faster," Camille smiled.

I ended up being the only one left in the venue. Kiera and Camille and their parents come. It felt like I was sitting on the front steps for hours on end, just waiting for my mom to drive by and pick me up.

After sitting there for what seemed like 3 hours, I began walking: my phone in one hand and my heels in the other. Yes, I was walking barefoot. Yes, I felt so dirty without my shoes on. Yes, I had to walk on the side of the road. Yes, it did begin raining. Yes, I felt like crying.

It was cold and wet- I was cold and wet. Numerous cars sped past me, splashing me with dirty water and making me look even more dirty than I already was.

To my surprise, a car slowed down, slowly driving beside me. My instinct, I began walking fast and faster, pretending that I didn't notice the car at all.

"Ariana? Ariana?!" Nick exclaimed as he rolled down the window.

"This cannot be happening," I groaned, still walking.

"Get in! You're gonna get so sick! Why are you even walking right now?! And where are your shoes?! Are you okay?!" Nick exclaimed, unlocking the door.

Smiling, I got in. "One, my mom was supposed to pick me up, and she didn't. Two, these make my feet hurt so bad, I can't walk in them at all. Three, I don't know if I am, really. I might be going insane."

"I think you are," he chuckled as he turned up the heat. "No offence, but you kinds look like a raccoon."

"When someone says 'no offence,' it's still pretty offending. I'm offended, Nicholas." I smiled.
