Lexi.

I laid in bed thinking about nothing. Maybe because I didn't know what the hell I was thinking about or why. All that was on my mind was the fact that I'm keeping the biggest secret from my teacher.

I mean, he deserves to know right? I just don't want to see him get hurt. I don't know why I have that feeling but I do. No matter how hard I try to forget, I can't.

I turned over in bed and looked at my clock. It was almost midnight.

Well have fun trying to get some sleep now Lex.

I got up and chose to just get out and clear my head. Whenever this usually happens I go to the park to just escape a little. The park wasn't really that far from here, maybe three blocks.

I went into my closet and grabbed one of my hoodies as well as a pair of leggings. I grabbed my phone and earbuds then walked out of the house.

I put on some music and just started walking. The lights were really dim, and although it was insanely late out, I liked it.

The whole night gave me a sort of mysterious feeling, but it also kept me calm since no one was out. Even though I should probably be scared about getting kidnapped in the dark cold night, I wasn't.

I kept walking until about twenty minutes later I arrived at the park. The lights were flickering, and I understood that very well since this was an old park.

Liam and I used to come here when we were little with our parents. We used to sit at this old swing set that was torn down a long time ago which made us stop coming here. But whenever I needed an escape, I would come here sometimes.

I sat down on an old bench that overlooked that worn out lake, but to me it was beautiful with the moon shining above it. I looked around a little more until something caught my eye.

A man. But this man looked vaguely familiar from behind. I got up and slowly walked towards the figure. As I got closer, I spoke once I finally realized who it was.

"Mr. Mendes," I said in a shy voice and low and behold he turned around with a smile.

"Ms. Rivera I didn't expect to see anyone here, let alone you," he said and walked up to me.

"Same here Mr. Mendes, and I thought we already established that you could just call me Alexis," I said with a small smile and he shook his head.

"Well you started it," he said with a small chuckle.

Damn why did he have to be so cute?

"Right...sorry Shawn," I said and looked down at me feet.

"So what brings you here in the late night Alexis?" He asked while trying to meet my eyes.

"Just to think I guess," I mumbled as I picked my head up to look at him, "what about you?"

"Same thing your are doing," he said and I nodded.

After that we kept talking about the randomness things. We walked around the edges of the lake just talking, but the more we spoke, the more this uneasy feeling came upon me.

While walking for about an hour or so, we decided to sit down. Each time I spoke, I noticed this admiring look he would give me. It made me feel...different.

I then started to feel that feeling grow when he started talking about Justine, and how happy she makes him feel. He continued to talk about her and my hands started shaking.

I could feel the need to tell him the truth about her start to come up. I wanted to tell him, but I didn't want to see him get hurt. I could never do that to him, and I don't know why.

"Is everything alright Alexis?" I heard him ask while breaking me from my thoughts.

"Um what? Sorry just got caught up in something," I muttered and he nodded.

"Oh I understand. I'm you're teacher and you probably wouldn't want to hear about my personal life," he said and I shook my head.

"No no I swear it's not that it's just-" I cut myself off when it was about to come out.

"Just what?" He asked and I held my mouth opened wanting to tell him.

"Alexis you can tell me," he said and placed his hand on my leg.

"Justine is cheating on you," I spit out and he quickly pulled his hand away.

He turned around towards the lake and I froze. I didn't want to be the one to break it to him but I was.

"Shawn?" I mumbled while placing my hand on his shoulder.

He hummed in response and I tried to meet his eyes.

"Look I'm sorry. I didn't want to be the one to-" he cut me off by turning to me with a smile.

"To what? Tell me?" He questioned and I nodded.

"Lex, I already knew."

Well damn okay.
