Lexi.
I dropped my phone onto the bed and my eyes began to fill with tears.
"We need to leave. I have to go home," I mumbled and I could feel my heart start to increase in speed.
"Alexis, our flight isn't for another few days, I'm sure he's-" I cut him off and I knew I was losing my mind at this point.
"Make it sooner! If my dad has been in an accident I have to go!" I practically screamed in frustration and pulled myself away from Shawn and out of the bed.
"I'm sure he's fine," he said and I completely snapped.
"And if he isn't! Then I'll blame myself! It would be my fault that I didn't get to see him because I'm on this stupid trip with you!"
"Lex, please calm down I know you don't mean that," he said and his hand reached out to touch mine.
Call me a bipolar teenager if you want but when it comes to my family I take it personally.
"No Shawn he's my dad I have to go back we can't do this!" I yelled and stormed off into my room.
I grabbed my suitcase and placed all of my things back into it. I could hear Shawn talking on the phone in the other room and the whole room felt like it was shaking.
I grabbed my bag and walked back into Shawn's room.
"Okay, flight is in two hours, we should go," Shawn mumbled in a quiet tone while grabbing his stuff.
I didn't say anything I just walked back into my room to check that I had everything, and I was kind of mad at Shawn. He wanted to stay in London while my dad, his best friend, was in an accident.
Sure, I don't know what type of accident he was in because my mom never specified, but still. He's my dad.
"I'll be in the lobby when you check us out," I mumbled and walked out of the room into the hallway.
I didn't bother waiting for him to respond, so instead I grabbed my phone and called my mom.
"Hello?"
"Mom, what happened to dad? I'm coming home right now." I said as I stepped into the crowded elevator.
"Sweetie he was in a minor car accident, his back is just aching that's all. You don't have to come home I may have just overreacted about the whole thing."
"No mom, in coming home I want to make sure he's okay."
After that, I heard the phone go quiet as I finally made my way into the lobby.
"Alright Alexis, you do what you want to do now where's Shawn?"
Just hearing his name from her made my stomach flutter. I had no idea what I was doing. All of this is just wrong on a new scale of wrong. I can't be with him. All of this just needs to stop. My mind feels as if it's playing tricks on me.
"Alexis?"
"Oh he's just checking out and we'll be on the next flight home." I said and turned around to see him coming out of an elevator.
"Okay sweetie I'll see you soon then, tell him I said hello."
"Will do, bye mom."
After that, the line went dead. I watched as Shawn finished checking us out and started walking towards me.
"You ready to go then?" He said once he was almost in front of me.
"Whatever," I mumbled and turned back around to catch us a cab.
I waited in the cold and completely forgot to grab my jacket in my suitcase.
"You cold? Here take my jacket Lex," I heard him say and I shook my head without turning to him.
Maybe I was just overreacting over nothing, but I couldn't help but to be mad at him. No matter how sweet he was to me, I couldn't do this. None of this makes sense, nor will it ever.
"Lex, can you please talk to me," he said while trying to meet my eyes.
"Here's our cab," I said as a taxi pulled up in front of us.
I opened the door and got in with Shawn following behind.
"Where to?" The driver asked and I still didn't say anything I just turned my head to the side towards the window.
"Airport please," Shawn said in a gentle tone and I could feel myself melting from his tenderness.
"Alexis?" He tried whispering while placing one of his large hands on my thigh.
I quickly pulled away not wanting to do this any longer. When we get back I just want to forget whatever this was. Sure, he's a sweet guy, but I can't be with him. He's my teacher and so many things are wrong with that.
I'm not the type of girl to be doing this. I have never once broken a rule, and I don't plan on starting that even if he makes me feel great. My parents raised me to be a loyal, respectful young girl, and I'm going to stay that way.
No matter how much I feel myself changing for him, I can't do that. So the best thing to do is just forget all of this.
As my thoughts came to a close, I heard my phone buzz. I looked at it and saw a text from Mark. As if anything could get worse.
Mark: Hey gorgeous! x
Alexis: Hey, what's up?
Mark: Nothing it's just that my mind has been wandering a lot lately, and the guys told me it was time for another try so I was just wondering if you wanted to go on a date with me.
Alexis: Mark, you're seriously never going to give up on this are you? I guess we can give it a go. ;)
Mark: Wait seriously? Lex if you're messing with me I swear! XD
Alexis: I'm not I swear just tell me when and where. x
Might as well try to move on while I can.
