"We might have a problem." I announced as I closed the door to my house behind me.

"What kind of a problem?" Sam asked.

"The local cops kind." I threw my bag down on the floor by the door. "One was watching me in town and taking pictures. Surveillance basically."

"Shit." Natasha cursed.

"I'll pack us some bags." I told them. "We can get out of here by tonight." I started to go to the stairs when Steve stopped me.

"Widia, you don't have to do this." He spoke quietly, pain filling his voice. "You don't have to come with us."

"I'm already in deep enough." I shook my head stubbornly. "I'm a face nobody knows. That's what you need. Start getting showers. Who knows when you'll have time to get one again."

I didn't want to get into the things under my bed, but I knew I would have to. I pulled out the duffle bags and started putting clothes into them for the guys. Space in my car would be a little challenging, but we would have to make it work. We couldn't use the car Steve said they stole. As I was packing my bag, I picked up a framed picture of my team. My chest squeezed tightly and my throat felt scratchy.

This was my chance to make up for my past mistakes.

I brushed my thumb over the image of Zach Riggs, my fiancé. Just then, a series of knocks resonated through the silent house. The only thing making noise was the shower. Whoever was at my door at six o'clock at night couldn't be here for anything good.

I quickly stripped out of my clothes and wrapped a towel on the floor around me. Steve, Sam, and Bucky were in the hallway, hiding from whoever was knocking on the door. Natasha must've been in the shower.

"Stay here." I whispered to the three men as I passed them. They looked confused about me being in a towel but I didn't stand by to explain it. The person behind the door knocked impatiently again.

"Hold on!" I hollered. I pulled the door open and saw two police officers standing there on my porch. Shit. "Hello, officers." I made sure my guests could hear the word officers and make their way silently upstairs.

"Hi. Uh, you are Widia Cooper, right?" One of the officers asked. I recognized the second one as the one who was taking pictures of me earlier today.

"Yes sir." I nodded my head. "Do you guys want to come in?" The two officers came in to my living room and both shared a glance that didn't go unnoticed by me.

"Are you aware that the Captain America, the Black Widow, the Winter Soldier, and the Falcon were last seen just an hour from here?" The first officer asked.

"Yes sir. I saw it on the news." I nodded my head.

"Do you share this big house by yourself, Ms. Cooper?" The second officer questioned. He was staring me down while the first one looked around my living room.

"Yes sir." I replied with a nod.

"Then who's up in the shower?"

"No one. You caught me just about to get in."

That made both of them blush embarrassedly.

"Our apologizes, ma'am. We've been questioning everyone nearby." The first one explained. "Have a good night, Ms. Cooper."

"You too." I watched as they left and then closed the door behind them, locking it too. As I went back to the hallway, I found it empty. They must've ran upstairs—and they had. I found Bucky, Sam, and Steve standing in the hallway upstairs, waiting for me.
