"We can't stay for long, Widia." Natasha reminded me as I continued to watch the house my brother-in-law lived in.

"I know." I told her.

"We'll have to dump the van once we get out of DC." Steve added.

"I know."

They fell silent and I took a deep breath.

"If I call you, you guys get the hell out of dodge, okay?" I looked over to Steve, who sat in the passenger seat.

"I thought you said he was okay."

"He is and I don't think he'd turn us in. But anything is possible." I casted a glance over my shoulder to Bucky, who was behind Steve. We had been keeping our distance from each other and I didn't like it. However, we didn't have any time to talk things through and it was just so hard for me, for both of us. I opened the door to the van, closed it, and crossed the road. As I was approaching the stairs to the front porch, the door to the house opened.

"Aunt Widia!" Zoey was the first one out the door. She had blonde hair that was about chin length and bright green eyes. She threw herself at me once she got to the bottom of the steps and I had no choice but I grab her. My arms were extremely sore and my elbows had bruising on them from two days ago. There was also a possibility that I broke something in my arms from attempting to break that bulletproof glass window. But I sucked it up as I squeezed her tightly and kissed the top of her head.

"Hey, pretty girl." I smiled softly. "You've gotten so tall since I last saw you."

"And I cut my hair. What happened to your face, Aunt Widia?" Zoey's eyebrows crinkled together as she looked up at me.

"We didn't think you'd be dropping by." Joey spoke as he, Beth, and Eli came out of the house.

"I had to see the birthday boy on his big day." I held my arms open as I moved to Eli. "Happy birthday, little man."

"Thanks, Aunt Widia. I'm so happy to see you. Are you staying for cake?"

"Oh I can't, sweetheart." I shook my head gently as I let him go.

"We went to see Uncle Zach earlier this morning, Aunt Widia." Zoey said.

"Are you sure you can't stay, Widia?" Beth, Joey's wife, asked, turning my attention to her. "There's plenty of food inside."

"I really can't stay. I have to go."

Riggs and Joey's parents were inside visiting from Texas and I wasn't ready to face them after finding out new information pertaining to his death.

"Why don't you two go on inside and let me talk to Aunt Widia?" Joey suggested to his kids. They whined at first but listened. Beth followed them inside. "What happened to you, Widia? You look like you've been through hell—,"

I wrapped my arms around Joey's broad shoulders and held him tightly.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered.

"What? What for?"

If I told him all the things I had just found out about Riggs, then he would surely try to get as much information from me as possible. So I stayed quiet and only held on to him like my life depended on it, which was completely out of character for me.

"Widia, you're scaring me. Is something happening?"

"No. No. I just.... I have to go."

"Do you need anything? Any money? A place to stay?"
