Peridot's pov

I was tense. Personally I choose to believe that anyone would be. I had been longing for this moment for months.

Pearl squeezed my hand tightly. I glanced up at her, then at Yellen on my right, finally behind me at my mother.

Any moment now through the gates would walk the woman who'd given birth to me. A woman who would once more relinquish the responsibility of a child to her best friend.

"Are you okay?" Pearl asked. I nodded. I'd been preparing for this for months.

"Flight F-112 now releasing."

This was it. This was finally the moment where I'd see my birth mother after all this time.

"Peridot, she's here." Mother said softly. I looked up and I saw exactly what I expected. A short woman with wild blonde hair, bright green eyes, and a large, round stomach.

"Peridot?" She asked, her voice shaking. I nodded. She held her arms out and I rushed to be enveloped with them.

"It's been so long..." I whispered through tears. She nodded in agreement. After a minute, we both released.

"Yellow," She said, going to embrace mother. "It's good to see you."

"It's good to see you too, Em." Mother smiled. Em turned to see Yellen.

"Yellen, you've gotten so tall!" She wrapped her arms around Yellen as well, and continued to speak to mother.

"Peridot, I'm so happy for you!" Pearl said excitedly.

"Thank You! Oh! Mom, this is my girlfriend, Pearl!" Em turned around, shocked and euphoric, that I called her mom, and hugged Pearl too.

"Aw, Pearl! You're so beautiful! The perfect girl for Peridot!" Pearl blushed profusely.

"Thank you." After a moment Em returned to catch up with mother and Pearl returned to me. "For a pregnant woman, your mother hugs tightly."

"I know!" I beamed. "She's everything mother isn't!" Pearl peered at me, intrigued.

"I would assume you'd like to drop me off at my house now, wouldn't you?" My smile dropped.

"I'm sorry Pearl, but... It's just been so long!" Pearl smiled sympathetically.

"It's... Alright. We still have the rest of April break to talk." I smiled.

"Yeah."

(A/N) Okay fine I'm sorry. Originally I wrote like half of an April Fools filler to try and lion the mood, but that didn't really work out... So here's some major story progression?
