^^ The Library ^^

Val's POV

The next morning I woke up with a terrible headache. I wasn't able to sleep properly because of the frightening incidents with the werewolf's. Raven as usual prepared my bath and got me ready. After I was done I asked her "Where can I find king Ryan?"   "Oh dear! He's not here in the castle right now, but he will be back by afternoon." She replied. "Do you know where did he went?"     "No sweetheart, I don't know. But he said that we have some problems that require his assistance." She said and I had a feeling that the problem were those wolves. 

Ryan had told me that I was free to do anything here in the castle. So, I asked Raven to show me the library, I might as well pass my time with some books since his highness is not here. Raven happily obliged to my request and left me alone in the library, but before she can leave I told her "When king Ryan comes back please come and inform me." to which she nodded. When she was finally out of sight, I found myself looking around the library in awe. It was huge but that didn't surprised me. What surprised me was the neatness of it, all the books were placed at there respective places and there were different sections for books of different genres.

There was a huge chandelier in the middle of the library, which was illuminating the whole library. I started walking into it and looked for some interesting books which can prevent me from getting bored. I passed many sections like romance, fantasy, poetry, mystery etc. but none of them caught my eye. Finally my eyes fell on a section which was tagged Vampire, there was a note along side the tag which says -

"Do not touch any book from this section, unless you are the king or there would be consequences."

Well, interesting. But you know I am as curious as a cat so I would touch it anyway. He doesn't have to know about it. I was looking through the section when my eyes caught a really ancient book, which was placed at the top. Finally I found something interesting, now I have to find a ladder since my hands won't reach there. After searching for a while I found one and brought the book down. It was really heavy. I dusted it off and sat down on one of the chairs. The book was titled 'A Vampire's heart ♥' .

I thought that vampires don't have a heart. I mean people say that they are dead, and that's the reason why they are immortal because you can't kill a dead person. And dead people don't have a heart.......right??  This book is really interesting, I am glad I found it. Now I can discover more about vampires and their dead hearts. The first few pages of the book gave the general introduction about vampires like they drink blood and that they are immortal blah blah............  "Well that much I know book, tell me something which I don't know." I mumbled to myself.

After some more basic information I came upon the topic "mate" , now it was something new. The article says -

A mate is a vampire's love for eternity for whom he has waited for several decades.

A vampire mate is someone who can revive their dead heart. It won't be completely revived as of a human but it will start beating faintly, which can provide enormous power to a vampire.

But the dead heart can only be revived when the mate falls in love with the vampire.

Once a vampire finds his mate, he has to be with her forever. Being separated from the mate can kill a vampire.

A vampire can sense it when he is near his mate, it gives him a feeling that he is alive again.

A mate can help a vampire to gain power over all the other creatures prevailing.

But for all these things to come true the most important condition is that the vampire's mate must be a vampire, which happens once in a thousand years.

Great philosophers had predicted ----

"Val dear, master Ryan has arrived." Raven said from behind me which startled me. I turned around and told her "Okay, I will be there in a moment." With this she left. I quickly closed the book and placed it on its original position, so that Ryan won't come to know that I have touched it. I will come again later to finish my reading, with that I made my way out of the library and went straight to the study as that's the only place in the castle where you can find king Ryan.

I needed to talk to him about the werewolf attack .............
