^^ Siren ^^
Val's POV
Everything was blur, I couldn't process what was going on. All I remember is blacking out in Ryan's arms and the alpha's venom spreading in my body. But now however the pain was gone and slowly I felt life seeping in me. After a lot of struggle I finally opened my eyes and they directly landed on the one person whom I love dearly.
Tears of happiness picked up in my eyes. I can finally point my feelings towards Ryan about which I was not so sure before, he is the love of my life who reciprocates my feelings with as much passion. He had saved me several times, but this time he had brought me out of the death's grip. Nobody, in my past had ever cared for me in the way Ryan does. He may be a heartless beast or a monster in the world's eye but for me he's my knight in the shining armor, who will always be by my side whenever I would need him.
With all these emotions running through me, I shakily sat up and did the first thing I could think of, I kissed him and he returned it with as much intensity, signaling that he held the same feelings for me. I smiled through the kiss when he moved his hands from my waist to my flushed cheeks and caressed them lovingly. Tips of my fingers were playing with the hair on the back of his neck and I felt him shiver ever so slightly, which caused an unknown feeling in my stomach, maybe they were the butterflies people talk about. Whatever it was, it felt amazing. His lips were soft and cold, contradicting my own warm one's. This was my very first kiss and I was more than glad to share it with someone who care for me.
Softly he pulled away from the kiss and rested his forehead against mine. My eyes were still closed and my breaths were uneven. Ryan's one hand was still caressing my cheek and the other was placed on my waist. Nervously I opened my eyes just to find out that Ryan was already staring at me intently with a sweet smile on his lips. I blushed furiously and buried my face in the crook of his neck. We stayed like that for several minutes and when I was fully stable, I whispered softly "T-Thank you." He pulled away slightly to look at my face which was still buried in the crook of his neck. "For what?" He asked, clearly confused. "For saving me......... again!" I replied lowly. "You don't have to thank me for that. I promised you, to keep you safe and I just kept my promise, nothing much." "No! It means a lot to me........ Nobody had ever cared for me like this before." I muttered. "Well I do care for you." he said in a low whisper that it took me a while to comprehend it.
"By the way, I should be the one thanking you for that amazing kiss!" He said, playfully changing the topic, and I looked at the ground, blushing bright red. He leaned in and whispered in my ear "I would love to repeat it all over again." It caused shivers down my spine and my eyes widened. I stood up abruptly and that's when I noticed my surroundings. It was amazing, white doves were flying over us and a heavenly tree was standing above glowing water. The sight left me speechless. "What place is this?" I found myself asking. "Its the elixir of serenity. The only thing which can save a person from the grasp of death." Ryan explained.
Suddenly I realized that someone was missing "Where's Keil?" I panicked "Don't tell me he's hurt. He's okay right?" I asked unsure. Ryan chuckled and said "You amaze me love, you were the one bit by a giant wolf and you are worried about a vampire." I tried to ignore the nick name he used for me and asked again "Is he okay?" "Yeah. He is completely fine. He is probably flirting with the sirens back there." "What sirens?" I asked cluelessly. "Come, I will show you." and with that we left the enchanting place, the place where I had my first kiss with my mate.
We were walking for about half an hour and yet we hadn't reached our destination. "How much more?" I whined for the hundredth time now. Instead of answering, Ryan just rolled his eyes and I sighed. After several minutes Ryan said "We are about to reach. Here put these buds in your ears." "Why?" I asked while furrowing my brows. "The sirens can lure you with their voices and I certainly don't want to see my mate getting seduced, so please." He replied and handed me the buds. I nodded and put them in my ears. In no time we were able to see some people chatting with each other, well more like clinging to each other.
I was suddenly pulled behind a tree by Ryan, I looked at him confusedly and he pointed to the scene ahead. I turned to see where he was pointing and my jaw dropped when I saw Keil in the middle of numerous beautiful women, and that too shirtless. I diverted my focus from Keil to Ryan and asked "What is he doing there shirtless?" "Doing what he's good at, flirting." Ryan said nonchalantly. He signaled Keil that we were there and relief washed over his face. All of a sudden I was lifted up off the ground and a gasp left my lips. I watched as Ryan mouthed something to Keil and before I can understand what was happening, Ryan began to run with his vampire speed and I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck to secure myself from falling.
We came to halt when those sirens were left behind and in seconds Keil too arrived there. Ryan put me down and as soon as he did that I was engulfed in a bone crushing hug. It took me a while to understand that it was Keil who had hugged me. I returned the hug happily. He pulled apart from the hug and started rambling "What took you so long? Those sirens would have bored me to death. I swear, I won't flirt with a woman for a month or so now...... Thank God you are finally safe Val. I knew my moron of a friend would save his lovely mate." I just smiled in return.
"Let's get back to our horses. We have to reach the witch's kingdom." Ryan said. "Hopefully no wolfs now." Keil sighed and I just looked to and fro between them, like a lost puppy.
And again we started our journey back to the witch's kingdom......
