Chapter 25

Val's POV

"He told them to turn me." As soon as these words left Ryan's mouth my breaths hitched. I looked towards him with wide eyes. "Why would he ask them to turn you into one?" I asked. "Because he knew what Zeas had said would come true and the vampire kingdom would perish. No other vampire could have rehabilitated it, because they were all the part of your father's crime. So only a new born who has no connections with the vampires can do that." He explained. "But why you?" I queried. "I don't know. Maybe he thought that I would be perfect for his mesmerizing daughter." He answered playfully and kissed me on my cheek, his lips lingering there for longer than necessary and with that blood rushed to my face instantly.

But there was this continuous nagging feeling in my heart which was making me squirm in my place. Guilt, the feeling was of guilt. It wasn't my fault that Ryan was turned into a vampire but still, I felt responsible for it. I know how it feels to live alone without any family and my dad, unintentionally, took away his family. So I was kind of responsible for my dad's deeds.

I looked up at him and murmured "Sorry." He looked confused so I continued "Sorry, on behalf of my dad. He did it unintentionally, I can assure you. But still he snatched your family from you, so I am really sorry for that."    His lips curved upwards into a small smile and he said "There's no need to be sorry. If he wouldn't have done that then I would have been dead right now just like all the humans. He gave me an elixir by making me immortal. Plus, I wouldn't have found you if he wouldn't have told them to turn me. So, I am kind of glad for what he did." His words made my heart melt and certainly, I was also thankful to my dad for choosing him.

"Guys! Stop the PDA please. No kisses in front of me it makes me want to have a mate too." Keil said over dramatically and Ryan replied with "Find one then."   "I didn't found one till now because all of them are scared of you and me being your friend, makes them fear me as well." Keil complained making me laugh. "He's not that bad. Why are they scared of him?" I said and Keil countered by "He's only sweet with you, but with others he's that heartless beast, which he is."   "No, he's sweet with you too Keil." I defended Ryan for some unknown reason. "Okay! Okay! Your Ryan is the sweetest vampire in the world." Keil teased and Ryan glared at him. "Keil you will find your mate in time, don't stress." I assured him and he passed me a smile.

We were travelling for quite some time now and we still have a long journey ahead. We were just chatting on some random things when I noticed that there was something off about Ryan. He hadn't uttered a single word from a long time, it was just me and Keil talking. "Are you alright?" I queried. He nodded but his eyes were saying otherwise. "Ryan tell me th--" before I can finish my sentence he fell off of the horse. "RYAN." I squealed and got off the horse while Keil mimicked our action. I rushed towards Ryan and knelt down, resting his head on my lap. He was half conscious. "What happened to him Keil?" I asked worriedly. Keil came towards us and inspected Ryan.

I was getting more and more worried as the time passed. "Keil?" I inquired again. "This idiot is starving. He didn't had blood from I don't know how many days. We have to give him blood real quick otherwise it can get worse." Keil answered. "Where will we get blood from? And that too at this time?" I said. "You wait here with Ryan, I will go on hunt. And don't let him sleep under any condition, okay." Keil warned and I nodded. He went to get some help while Ryan was so close to dozing off. "Ryan!.... Ryan stay awake please." I tried to keep him in consciousness, while patting his cheeks lightly. "Ryan you can't be unconscious now. Please try to keep your eyes open. Please." My voice broke at the end. It wasn't working, he was slowly drifting off. I looked around to see if Keil was in sight but he wasn't.

"NO! no, no, no, no, no!! Ryan please." I panicked. He was so close to being unconscious when I did the unexpected, i kissed him, again. That was the only thing I could think of at the moment. And it worked. He was responding slightly but it was better than before. I pulled away from the kiss when I was sure that he wasn't going to loose his consciousness. He was staring at me with his infamous smirk and I bit my lip in nervousness. "You so like to taste my lips. Don't you." He stated tiredly and I looked away while turning red.

But then he started to breath heavily like someone was chocking him. I was totally clueless about what was happening. "Ryan... R-Ryan what ha-happened?" I asked tearing up. But he didn't answered. "Ryan please.........  Oh god........ Don't faint!!" I nearly shouted at him but nothing worked. I was frantically looking around for some help with tears cascading down from my eyes.

And in a matter of time he was lying still, with his head placed on my lap.....
