Chapter 5

Val's POV

As soon as those words left his lips, my eyes widened and my jaw dropped. "I-I ..... I didn't..... " I tried to speak but I didn't know what to say and his closeness was making me even more nervous than I already was. "You what?" He said, expecting an answer from me.

"I didn't crossed the lake. I don't know how I ended up here.......All I recall is that there was a huge wolf who was probably going to kill me and the next thing I remember is that I was drowning in the lake and I blacked out." I explained and he was just staring at me intently with his deep blue eyes, making me squirm in my position.

I tried to move away from him but he placed his hands on either sides of my head, blocking my only escape."Now! Now! Sweetheart you aren't going anywhere. I didn't brought you here for you to escape." He said making my heart go wild. "Yo-u you....... You saved me!" I shuttered due to the close proximity and he smirked, making it clear that he was enjoying my uneasiness. "No! I was just curious as to who has dared to set a foot in the forbidden lake--" he spoke while moving his face closer to mine and now there was only an inches gap between us. "But I ended up saving you and I don't regret it. You are something I haven't seen before." he completed his sentence, making the blood rush to my cheeks................ What? Why am I blushing? It wasn't even a compliment. Or was it!

"What place is this?" I whispered the one question which was bothering me from a long time now. "This is my kingdom! And you are in my castle right now." he answered back. "Wh-what king-kingdom?" I have never heard about any kingdom. This was a whole new thing for me. Back there in Oklahoma no one ever mentioned about a kingdom before.

I guess I shouldn't have asked that question because with that his smirk grew and his eyes went from ocean blue to blood red, right in front of me. My own eyes widened at the sight and my heart was beating louder than a drum right now. To say that I was scared would be an understatement, I was terrified as hell.

"Vampire kingdom!!" He answered and with that his canines converted into really sharp fangs. It made my breath uneven and my legs couldn't hold me up anymore. This was a lot to take in for a girl like me who has always been oblivious to such things. I have never, ever heard about them and now I am standing before one. And not just anyone but the king of them all. What have I gotten myself into?

"What a-a-are you go-ing to do with me-e?" I whispered so softly that for once I thought he wouldn't hear me, but he did. His eyes went back to normal and his fangs disappeared but it didn't made him appear less intimidating. "Don't be scared. I am not going to hurt you............. At least not until you do something stupid to anger me." he said with a threatening tone. Couldn't he see I was already terrified he didn't need to scare me more with his tone.

"An-and what wo-uld be that some-thing which would make you an-angry?" shuttering I asked him gently hoping that it would not offend him. After knowing what he is, it would be better to be on his good side. Or at least that's what I think. "That something would include for you to not to try to escape. Because even if you do, you would end up here again. There's no way out." he answered calmly this time. And his answer crushed all my hopes of getting out of here.

"So, miss Valerie. This is your new home. Raven would be here tomorrow morning to assist you. Till then, good night." and before i can ask how he knows my name, he was out in a blink of an eye leaving me alone in this huge room.
