chapter 44

Arthur's POV

after what Cedi said my world fall down, I'm in a deep grave, thrown in a deep part of the ocean where no one can go. The family that I thought was mine is about to be gone. I don't know how to believe in this or how to make this okay. My heart sadden thinking about the sudden departure of the family that I was once build.

"hello hon?" I called to kathrine knowing that she will be angry if I came home late.

"hey honey, are you on your way home now?" she asked happily

"no, I still had to meet a client in the city" I heard her let out a big sigh "hey don't worry I'll try to go home early"

"sure? you know me I can't stand alone in this house" she said sadly

"yeah I promise, go to sleep early okay? don't wait for me it's not good for Aleve" I said smiling

"yeah, we will dad" she said her voice is now lively "goodbye and I love you"

"goodbye, I love you too honey" I turn off my phone and went to my car.

will I hear his words? will I believe in his stories? will I ever be with my family again? so many questions runs in my mind, so many things I wanted to do with my family but how when the world turns me upside down. I ain't gonna lose my family, I don't want to lose them. They are mine. A tear escape from my eyes but I didn't bother to wipe it away because this tears means that I will never gonna give up on them.

I saw Cedi's car parked so I guess his now here, I went to the vacant area and park my car. I let out a big sigh before I get out from the car and face Cedi with all my might. I don't want to get into trouble I need to talk to him patiently and hear his excuses. I looked around the restaurant and saw the back of Cedi waiting in a closed door area of the restaurant. It was awkward when I entered the space. He didn't talk and so do I.

"Art I won't asked them to you" is his first words. " I want to know what really happened and how didn't you told this to me". I looked at him and see that he was telling the truth that he didn't really know kathrine has his child.

I fill him all that has happened before we found out kathrine was pregnant, how he send messages to kathrine, how he denied the baby and how did he dumped her. His reactions was always shocked and confused he.listen to me all of the time, he didn't even interrupt while i was talking, he just let them sink it to his mind and he was thinking like it was odd.

"so you thought I know everything?" he asked, I nodded since i don't know what to say, every information that i told him was making him more shocked and hurt. I think he really doesn't know about the baby.

"Arthur i know that you've never been tried to become a father but please let me have my family, let me take care of them" he plead.

"Look Ced, I'm a man and we both know that i stand up for your wrong doings.." i was cut off by him "wrong doings? i didn't knew i have a baby! i was blind in everything!" his hands were balled, his jaw were clenched and looks like he was ready to fight.

"you're blind because of Elli!" i shouted in his face, i can't take this anymore, he needs to know the truth. I just can't sit here and watch the family i built torn to pieces. All of us were in pain because of a selfish person. I need to voice out the truth and it should be Cedi who will settle everything but i won't let him harm my family. And i mean it.

"don't you dare blame Elli for this! I know she has a say to this but it's only out of desperation!" he defended her.

"well i guess i had a say to this and all i wanted for you to know is, i won't let you come near to my family" i said in a firm tone then went out of the restaurant.

"you can't do that art! they're mine! You can't be a family because that child is mine!" he said following me i turn to him and saw his balled hands mark on my left cheek.

"pfft. how selfish of you! just be happy of what you have Ced, i give them everything that you didn't" i then get inside the car and drive back to the house.

Am i selfish? All i wanted is to make Kathrine happy and to our baby to have a big happy family. Am i wrong to decide what is good and bad for them? i can't let Cedi have them again after what he did or let just say it was elli but i can't take the risk of seeing kathrine and the baby having one roof with elli it's too much to see. I don't want them to feel unwanted. I wanted them to feel valued and loved, to feel being needed and being cared for. Cedi can't do that to them specially when Elli is around. I park my car at the garage and saw Kathrine waiting for me at the door step.

"i told you not to wait for me hon" i said after i plant a kiss in her forehead.

"i know but I can't sleep" she replied getting my office suit and hang it.

"is something bothering you?" i asked her. I need to let her know about Cedi and i's conversation before Cedi do it for me.

"no, maybe i just can't sleep knowing you are not around" she replied hugging me from the back. Oh sweet of her, this is why i love her too much. I turn around and cupped her face, i kissed her lips and carry her in a bridal style.

"what are you doing?" she asked

"i don't want you to get tired so i'll carry up to the bedroom hon" i said, she put her arms around my neck and let me carry her.

i woke up without Kathrine by my side so i went to the bathroom and washed my body, i changed my clothes and went downstairs. i smell the sweet scent of a fresh baked chips and the aroma of a hot chocolate, guess she was preparing for breakfast. i went to the kitchen and greeted by her friends.

"oh, good morning "she greeted" did we wake you up hon?" kathrine asked handling a hot chocolate to her friend.

"oh, no i just smell your bake chips and i wanted to have one" i said wiggling my chip in my hand, she smiled at me and handed me a hot chocolate.

"kathrine always talks about you and how all of you met her, specially jenica" i looked at jenica who's eating her chips at the end of the table. "and matthew" i said eyeing at him.

"so you already know the famous Cedi?" mon-mon started to changed his position like he was starting to make a conversation. i nodded at him and sipped my hot chocolate. i saw matthew kicked mon-mon's feet under the table and just smiled at him.

"it's okay matt, i know that mon-mon is sometimes tactless, cheers to that" i said putting my cup in the air "kathrine told me that he sometimes let the word slip in his mouth" everyone laughed at mon-mon but he just shrugged and smile to me.

"you can't blame kath, she's right" kenneth said laughing hard.

"excuse me" i said walking towards the kitchen. I saw kathrine tailing me, i guess i need to tell her, my conscience is killing me and before it's too late.

"can i have you for at least an hour?" i asked her when i stop at the middle of the walk.

"of course hon, why? is this about the company?" she asked me but i shake my head and lean on the table. "then what about?" i looked at her eyes and saw how worried she is when i told her that we need to talk but can't tell for what about.

"can i talk to you at my library?" she nodded and lead the way to the library. She stopped for a while at the table where her friends was sitting and made her way back to the library.

"so what is it all about?" she asked after i closed the door.

"can you please sit first" i gestured to the chair next to my table and sit next to her.

after a long silence i decided to speak and tell her everything that happened last night, the come out and how Cedi reacted to my decision.
