Chapter 49

The time that i hate the most has come, saying goodbye to someone you love is a painful word that you need to say. Before Cedi and Elli went to the airport, Early morning cedi arrived at my condo. "baby, i don't want to go if i won't see and hug you not for the last time but to say see you soonest my dear love" he hug me tight and kiss me passionately. I miss his kisses, his hugs and his loving tender voice that i always hear whenever he calls. I really don't want him to go but it is his choice and it is his will to be with Elli at her travel. " wait for me because i will be forever thinking and loving you throughout the time that i am on her home place." that was his last word before he let me go and say goodbye. it kills me inside that i am now on my way to my 8th month of pregnancy but he's not around. I don't feel secure i'm scared that i might deliver the baby earlier than his due date.

one week after Cedi and Elli went out of the town i was alone and feel bored i decided to go the mall for a little walk. I went to the ladies section and look for some dresses that i can wear after i gave birth to my baby boy. Of course i want to be a mother that a child can be proud of. "kathrine!" a voice called me from behind i turn around and saw jenica running towards me. "how are you?" she ask as soon as she arrived at my location. "i'm fine and so does my baby boy" i replied rubbing my big belly "when is your due date?" "next month" i started to made my way to the dress section and jenica is tailing behind me. "so how are you with Cedi?" i pick the first dress and i look at myself in the mirror. "i didn't get a message from him lately" i said in honesty "why? where is he?" "he's at Elli's hometown" "that bitch! she really didn't let Cedi go!? does she knew the word GET THE FUCK OFF! she's too annoying!" Jenica almost burst out from anger but suddenly calm when we hear a voice from my back "hey who is this annoying bitch?" i knew that voice, i knew i turn around and hug him "i miss you!" i said "so do i soon to be mom" "where have you been? i never heard a news from you after the incident at Arthur's house." "i went to canada to cool down and of course made a trip away from the danger" he replied laughing "by the way who's with you?" Jenica butted in "alone i guess, can't be with my buddy's today because they were all busy now" "why don't you join us?" i said "where are we heading?" Jenica asked "i'm hungry i wanted to eat" "oh, so the pregnant is hungry, okay then i'll treat you since i've never seen you from long time" Matthew proposed.

We enter at Mc Donald and ordered our food, we seated at a nearby table and settled ourselves there. "how's the Canada matt?" jenica ask while we waited for our food. "not good specially when your best buddy is not around." "really? so does it mean you miss me too?" "of course not, it's not you who i miss, it's my boys" "that hurts matt, i miss you, really" "for real?" "of course not!" jenica said trying to give back the words that matthew said. "will you stop being bully matt, it drive us nuts" "fine i'll zip my mouth" matthew put his hands in the air gesturing of surrender. Suddenly i feel my back aches feels like i'm in labor "guys?" both of them looked at me, "what is it kath?" jenica ask "i feel pain at my back, it feels like I'm about to deliver the baby today" "but you said it will be next month" "i thought so but why does it feels this way". "what to do girls? I'm not into this, I've never been in this kind of situation and I've never been a father!" matthew said "will you stop blabbering matt, you're not helping! will you please get your car and move to the entrance so that we can bring her to the nearest hospital" jenica ordered matt "right! that what should i do" matthew directly went to his way to get his car while jenica tried to help me to stand up and assist me to walk to the crowd and get out of the mall.

i woke up in a room with white walls that has a small cabinet in the right side. I move my hands but i can't move it because of something is holding it. I look to the thing that made my hands stop from moving and i saw a hair of the person that i miss the most. From the distance that we had and just by looking at his hair i know who he is, suddenly he move his head and look at me , our eyes met and i know he misses me too. "thank God you're okay kath" he said kissing my forehead. "are you alright?" i nodded in response suddenly i realized the reason why i was here "is my baby okay?" i asked him, he nodded "it was just a contraction that your body need to feel, it is a shortening of the uterine muscles occurring at intervals before and during childbirth." "how did you know i am here?" "matthew called me" i slapped my own forehead, that boy doesn't really know what to do, he is always in panic and can't think directly. "hey, it's alright you don't need to do that. I am happy that he called me and let me know your whereabouts, I've been trying to reach you at your condo but when i went there your always not around" "is that so?" he nodded again before i could ask another question i heard the door open and it reveals me a familiar face, my heart jumps because of joy, i really wanted to meet this person, she went to me and hug me tight.

"Mom" is the only word i utter then i started to cry "hush baby hush, there is no need for you to cry, mom is now here" she said rubbing my back. I saw Arthur went out and let mom and me had our time. "how are you?" mom asked "i'm fine, they said it was just a contraction" she nodded "who told you about me, you know at the hospital" "Arthur called me and told me about the news, i told him that i can't get in the exact time because of lacking in financial but he insist saying he'll send his private plane to get me directly and be here to with you"she said remembering all the things that had happened while i passed out "that guy never fails to make me happy" i said. I don't know what he thinks about me right now or who i am in his life but i'm lucky that he's always there to protect and gives what i needed.

An hour after Jenica came in, "did you get some rest?" she said as she put down my bag at the right side of the bed "yeah, luckily mom is here to help me lessen the pain i feel" she went beside me and hold my hand. "well you don't need to worry much because everything is alright, just relax and keep the baby boy safe." she said rubbing my belly "oh he kick!" she exclaimed, i giggle, seeing my friend with excitement in her face. "he sure is happy right now" i said looking down at my kicking baby.

I didn't stay too long at the hospital knowing that all i need to do is a long rest. I went back to my condo and stayed there with my mom. I open my phone and saw the text messages of Cedi that i didn't get the chance to read while i was confined in the hospital.

"are you alright? how is the baby?" -C

"why you didn't pick up the phone?"- C

"Kathrine Alonzo! what is happening in there?"- C

"could you please answer me? I can't get enough of sleep here thinking of what happened to you while im not around. Who's with you? did you take all your medications? How are you right now. please call me back.-C

i feel a little guilt rushed down on my body, why i didn't tried to call him while i was on the hospital but my mind says it was right for him because he just leave me here not thinking of what might happened to me if he's not around. But i still listened to my heart and talk to him. I dialed his number and without any wasted second he answer it.
