A Love Worth Waiting For: Chapter 38- Marco's Worry

***

"Did you drink lots of water?"

"A whole tank"

"Did you use the nebulizer."

"Yes, Doctor."

Marco has been asking me these questions since he picked me up. He kept on feeling my forehead for a fever. Kept asking me if I'm under the weather. But, I know his only doing this for my own good.

We are now walking going to school. Him glancing at me every now and then.

Its still the same. Them, ignoring me. No matter how many attempts I try to talk to them. They always have these excuses. It hurts. It feels like my world is falling apart, and only Marco is the only one binding it together. I would go crazy if he, too, is gonna ignore me.

I just hope he doesn't.

***

Sadly, Marco and I only have two classes together. Which is Science and Computer. Most of my classes are with my old group. So that's a down side since, I feel invisible in those classes.

Answers.....that's what I want. I want to know why they're ignoring me. I want to know why Nathan is acting that way, yesterday. I plan on approaching one of them today.

Though I know they'll just make excuses on not to talk to me.

"Chloe? Stay out of stress, right?" Marco gave me a worried look.

"Yeah..."

"I know your in a lot of stress. Here" he smiled offering me a bottle of water. I accepted the blue haired male's offer as I opened the bottle and drank it's substance.

We are now seated in our science class. The teacher not yet entering the room. Kyle ignoring everyone, like the usual. It seems like he's staying away from the group. It seems like he only talks to Claire.

I see Marco glancing at window. I just shrugged as he excused himself to go outside.

Its already lunch time. I'm starting to get worried. Once Marco left the classroom for science class. He didn't return. He skipped classes. Its not like him since he is a top student.

Well, for Kyle. Like the usual, he skipped. But I don't need to worry about him. He has Claire to worry about him.

I grabbed my lunch box from the canteen and climbed on top of the roof top. Ever since, I was abandoned by my old group. I started eating lunch here with Marco. I never really visited my old table. I wonder if they're still there?

I opened up my lunchbox to see my sandwich. I carefully opened it as I bit a part of it. I suddenly hear something from behind me to see Marco. Though he wasn't looking at me directly. He was trying to avoid my gaze.

"Hey Chloe!" He greeted still not facing me, but I could see the curve on his lips. I approached him as he backed away from me slowly.

"What are you-?"

I grabbed his chin to make him look at me. There I saw, his right eye having a bruise. Just to make it clearer, he has a black eye. He has scratches and some of the cuts in his hands we're still bleeding. Not to mention his face.

"Marco? What happened to you?"

"I thought....you wouldn't notice."

"Marco! Of course I would notice!" I then held his hand and pulled him going down the rooftop.

"Chloe? Where are we going?"

"We're simply going to the clinic. So I can bandage you up."

"Nurse?" I opened the clinic door to find our school nurse sitting on her chair reading a book.

"Ah! Chloe? What may I help you with?" She smiled as she placed down her book.

"Its not me who needs help. But him" I pointed at Marco trying to hide his other eye with his blue hair.

"Come on Marco, sit down." Nurse patted the soft bed as she went to get something in the drawers.

Marco hesitated but then sit down on the bed. Nurse handed me the ice pack as she sat down in front of him with medicine and cotton balls.

"Marco, look at me"

He hesitated.

Ugh! You stubborn boy!

His teal eyes soon met with mine. I removed his glasses as I gently placed the ice pack on his black eye. He flinched in pain as he separated from the touch of the ice pack.

"Sorry, I didn't meant to. Lets try that again." I gently lowered the ice onto his eye as he flinched again but instead of separating away,  he grabbed my hand and gently squeezed it.

"Marco, this might hurt a bit." Nurse gently smiled at Marco and then placed the medicine on the cotton ball. She then gently placed the cotton ball on his cuts and carefully bandaged them.

"Marco, what happened to you?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Don't worth about it? I have to. Who did this to you?"

He bit his lip, trying to find the right answer. After a couple of minutes, he looked at me.

"That's not important. What's important is the I'm okay. And so are you. Alright?" He cupped my cheek as I nodded.

"CHLOE!!!" A feminine voice called me. I looked behind me to see a familiar brunette, running almost tripping.

She ran up to me as she tackled me into a gigantic bear hug. I'm still mad so I kept a straight face.

"Kathy, what do you want?" I asked separating from her bear hug. Dusting myself on the way.

"W-what? I thought you'll be glad to talk to me again."

"I am happy your talking again, but I have some other things to worry about now. Come on Marco." I grabbed Marco by the hand as I turned away from her. I was about to walk but a hand stopped me.

"Please, Chloe. I'm sorry. My sisters can stand not talking to you. But I'm different. The guilt is slowly killing me! The guilt on not talking to you for no reason! Please...." she pleaded. Her sentence made me stop in my tracks but I still continued with Marco.

"I'll give you the answer to your question."
