Xander

Me and my father arrive at Crystal Peak pack, but my car is stopped while my father's goes ahead. Apparently they were only expecting the Alpha, not his son.

It took 15 minutes to convince them I was the new Alpha because my father had stepped down. A few minutes later and the pack house came into my line of vision.

I could see three guys standing around and I could only assume one was the Alpha. As I got closer I saw my father hugging a small blue haired girl wearing work out clothes. She looked hot.

I didn't recognize her until I saw her face. It was Alexis O'Riley. My very first crush and when I looked at her I could feel my wolf howl in excitment. He was chanting one word through my head, mate.

I was just as happy as my wolf. I always liked Alexis growing up, but we stopped talking as much after we moved away when I was ten. Then she became queen at 13 and couldn't talk at all.

The car came to a halt and that's when my wolf noticed all the unmated males standing around looking at her in her sports bra.

I was out of the car in the blink of an eye. My wolf coming to the surface not liking how they looked at our mate.

I took her in my arms and covered her as best I could while growling at the men around us. Soon she started to fight my arms while the three men from earlier pulled me off.

"What the hell Xander?" I struggled against the hands holding me. My only goal to cover up my mate's exposed skin. "Mate." Is all I shouted and everyone froze.

I took that as a chance to get near her but every time I made a move forward, she'd step back. I got frustrated and tried to grab her, but she ran.

I ran after her and was about to catch her when I was tackled.

An hour after I was tackled and scolded, I went over to Alexis' house. She wasn't expecting me and when she tried to slam the door, I stopped her.

I was just messing with her, trying to get a reaction out of her when I noticed a mark on her shoulder. "What is that?"

I grab her arm and move the strap of her shirt out of the way. On her shoulder was the mark of another man right where mine should be.

My wolf was hurt and angry. She pulled away and I saw the pent up anger forming in her eyes. She tried to command me to leave, but I didn't listen.

I was just focused on the broken look in my mate's eye's. I tried asking her what happened, but she ran when everyone else arrived. Stupid people, can't I have 5 minutes alone with my mate?

It didn't take long for the Aiden kid to tell us the plan they have so far. I just excused myself as quick as possible so I could find Alexis.

I got some trackers and ended up outside pack territory. I watched as Alexis' wolf sat by the pond. I figured she might be asleep so I tried sneaking over to her.

She already knew I was there though so I just came out to face her. She had shifted and I held back my wolf at the sight, handing her the clothes I brought for her.

After a small conversation she sits back down and I sit next to her. My eyes couldn't leave the mark on her shoulder the whole time I sat there.

"Why'd you run?" I could hear the hurt in my voice but I didn't care. I was relieved to hear it wasn't cause she was rejecting me. Then came the question I really wanted to ask.

"Are you already mated?" She stayed silent and I felt my heart break. My mate was already with another. "I see." I stood up and went to walk away, feeling the anger bubble up as my wolf whined.

"I'm not mated, not technically." I freeze. What's that supposed to mean? My wolf just yells at me not to question it. "Can you explain?"

"No, not now anyways." Was her simple answer as she walked away. I didn't mind. I was just happy to hear I still had a shot and I'll wait for how ever long she needs.

We walked back in silence and she ended up ignoring me for the rest of the day. I got a little anxious and couldn't stop the feeling of missing my mate.

The bond has gotten really strong in just a day and it was pulling me towards her. At one point I gave up on fighting the bond and went over to her house.

I knocked twice and with no answer, I peeked my head in. "Alexis? I need to talk to you." I called out and waited for her answer.

I walked further into the house when I saw Alexis asleep on the couch with the one who tackled me earlier.

She was leaning on him and he had her arm around her. I felt my wolf growl, but I held it in, not wanting to wake her.

I had planned on just leaving but every time I tried to turn around my wolf would stop me, not liking the thought of her in another guys arms.

I ended up agreeing with my wolf and making my way to the two. I gently picked up Alexis bridal style and she cuddled into my chest.

I let out a small purr and she started to stir in her sleep. I shut my wolf up quick before making my way up stairs.

I found her room easily since it was covered in her scent. Strawberries and honey. I was addicted.

I layed her in her bed and placed the sheets over her body. She groaned when I made my way away from her and to the door. Then she woke up.
