Xander

I watch as my angel sleeps, her hair flopped over her face as she pulls closer to me. She fell asleep a few hours ago and I've just been watching her, thinking.

She was out for two days before she woke up, how can she be sleeping so soundly? Maybe I should call the doctor. I make a move to get up, but Alexis' hold on me tightens as she mumbles in her sleep.

She yawns and stretches, looking up at me with sleepy eye's. "Starring is impolite." She gives me a small smile and I roll my eyes. "What time is it?"

"Three in the afternoon." Her eyes widen as she quickly sits up, grabbing the bedside clock. "The pack! I have so much to do, papers to sign, meetings to go to." I take the clock from her hands and set it down, gently grabbing her cheeks with my hands to get her to look at me. "You're doing none of that. We're having a lazy day, remember?"

She starts to remember the earlier events as she places her hand on her shoulder. A smile takes over her face as she looks back at me. "It wasn't a dream. Wait a minute, after the fight with Blake, how long was I asleep?"

"Uh, two days..." I mumble, but she still catches it. "Xander, I'm the leader of this pack, I can't just lay around for two days." She trys to get up from the bed, but I just pull her back down.

"First of all, you were unconscious. You weren't just laying around. Second, me and Josh have been taking care of the pack, and third, if you try to get out of this bed one more time, I'll chain you to the bed post." I keep my tone serious and she just glares at me, crossing her arms over her chest.

She mumbles out a 'whatever', and I smile in triumph. She actually listened to me. "Wait, what did you have to tell me?" She asks, a slight yawn leaving her mouth as she remembers my words from before.

"It's about Blake." I start off hesitantly. "What about him?" She narrows her eyes at me as I squirm under her gaze. "When Josh and Danny were taking him to the dungeons, he escaped. We haven't found him yet." Her eyes go wide as she process the news. "Was anyone hurt?" She says barley above a whisper. After reasuring everyone was fine and that people were looking for him, I got her to calm down.

We ended up spending the rest of the day in bed with candy, popcorn, and soda scattered across the bed. Cheesey horror movies playing on the tv, and chatting. I tried to bring up the whole mark thing a few times, but she just changed the subject. It made me and my wolf angry that she doesn't care about her health so we ended up leaving the room because of "Alpha business."

Now I'm just sitting here, in her office, trying to think of how to talk to her. The smell of cocoa and honey wrapping around my nose. The whole office smells of Alexis, probably because she spends all of her time in here. It's just making my wolf and me miss Alexis' warmth even more.

My wolf is mad that I just stormed out instead of talking to her. I kind of feel like an ass for doing it too, but I don't need him making me feel even worse.

Alexis•

I let out a frustrated sigh, sitting up from my bed. Xander left almost two hours ago. He kept trying to talk about the whole "im dying and I need your mark" thing and I just dodged the topic.

I guess that wasn't the best approach because he ended up punching a wall. Such a drama queen. I climb out of bed, giving in to my stupid wolf telling me to apologize and me also missing him, just a little bit. Okay, I miss him a lot. Damn it, I'm getting soft.

I grip my head as I stand up, everything getting dizzy. After a few seconds of just standing there, everything clears up and I make my way to the hall.

I take a left, listening to my wolf as she tells me where he is. I stop outside the giant oak doors leading to my office.

I take a deep breath before stepping inside. Xander has his elbows on my desk, his head in his hands. He hasn't noticed me yet. I walk closer so Im standing a few inches from his chair. "Xander."

I place my hand on his shoulder and he looks up at me startled. "Alexis, you're supposed to stay in bed." I just shrug my shoulders and hold onto the desk. I wish I would've stayed in bed, I feel like crap.

He sighs and holds out his arms. "Come here." He drags me down onto his lap, I struggle against him for a second before giving in.

"Im sorry." I whisper as I lay my head against his chest, hugging him. He hugs me back and rests his chin on my head. "We have to talk about it you know."

"I know, that's why I left my warm bed." He rolls his eyes at me and I giggle. "Why are you avoiding this?" He turns serious and he looks at me with sad puppy dog eye's.

"Im not avoiding it, I just don't want this to happen because it's being forced on us." He gives me a confused look and pulls away a little. "We're not being forced into marking each other."

"We are. I'm gonna die unless you mark me soon. That puts a lot of pressure on a person." I throw my hands in the air, giving him a 'duh' look.

"If we're ready then there's no pressure. Ive been wanting this for the last two months, do you not want this? Do you not want to be my mate?" He clenches his jaw and tightens his hold on my waist, flecks of gold surfacing in his eye's.

"You're mine, no one elses. Im your mate, my mark goes there." A small growl emits from his throat as his wolf starts gaining control. One thing Ive learned from the past few months, Xander's wolf has a temper and always assumes the worst.

"No, that's not what I meant, I promise. I just didn't know if you were ready." I place my hand on his cheek and he leans into my touch, his breathing evening out.

I give him a small smile as he rests his nose in the crook of my neck, breathing in my scent. When he calms down I give him a quick peck on the lips, Xander slowly coming to his senses.

"You're really okay with it?" He asks kind if worried I'll change my mind. I nod my head and a smile spreads across his face.

He pulls me into another hug before he gently presses his lips to mine.
