Alexis

I've been here for what seems like months. A beautiful lake sparkling in front of me. I remember this lake. My mom took me here when I was 10, a few days before the attack.

Why am I here? I was just with Xander. "I brought you here my child." I turn away from the lake, looking behind me at a beautiful woman standing behind me.

She's wearing a long, flowing dress that's covered in flowers, brown curly hair bundled up into a massive, fancy hair do on top of her head, eyes as green as the woods. She looks almost as if she's glowing.

"You're the moon goddess." I stand up from my spot on the ground. "Call me Belle." She walks a little closer. "You are one of my favorites Alexis. I created you, right here. I even listened to your parent's payers day and night."

She sits down on giant rock, patting the spot next to her for me to sit. I hesitantly walk next to her and take my seat. "Why didn't you give them a child? They had to go to a witch."

She took a deep breath and looked towards the woods, a baby dear and her mother stumbling out and towards us. "Your mother was a special girl. Pure. I wanted to give her the child she deserved, but your father, didn't deserve one. He was evil."

"He made a wonderful King, but at a price. He was cruel and cold hearted, even after meeting his mate. I was hoping she could change him, that's why they were paired up."

"I spoke to your mother one day and she said not to let her bare a child until he learns how to control his anger." She runs her hands along the grass and flowers, everything she touches coming to life.

"No one ever told me about that." I look away from the moon goddess and to the lake. "Well his father was just as cruel, even beat him a few times. Like father like son I guess."

"Then why was I born Belle?" I look to her and she gives me a sympathetic look. "You were never supposed to be born. The witch who put the spell on your mom was very powerful. The spell she created was to be able to take control of the maker, me."

"But, she promised my parent's a boy." A small smile appears on her face as she looks at the water. "I went back."

"What?" She looks over at me and play's with my hair. "I went back to your mother my dear. A few months after the spell while she was sleeping, I added a few changes. I replaced the little boy, with a little girl."

"The baby boy is off with another family, he has a mate and two children now. I wanted your father to go after the witch for lying, but he took a different turn. I knew he could be evil, I just never thought he'd hate his own child."

"My father doesn't hate me, he loves me." I pull away from her hand. "Yes, he does, but at first he didn't know what a blessing you were, he resented you for not being a boy. Then, when you were six, you had an accident. He realised how precious you were and gave you everything."

"Why am I here?" I dip my toes in the lake, the water being warm from the sun. "We need to talk about your mate, Xander." I stay silent, signaling for her to keep talking.

"He needs to mark you, you're dying." I look over at her wide eyed. "Dying? I'm not dying, the doctor would've told me."

"He didn't tell you because he thinks he can save you with a bunch of medication."

"He can't mark me." I look down at my feet, my wolf whimpering. "That mark on your shoulder was never supposed to be there, I can remove it, but we will see each other again."

Before I can question her, she rests her hand on the mark, a burning sensation going through my body. "Win the war and run your kingdom Alexis." That was the last thing I heard from her before I woke up.

"Alexis? Your awake." When I open my eyes Xander is right next to me, worry evident on his face. "Where am I?" I look around the room, everything a little foggy.

"We're at home, in our bedroom." Everything starts to slowly come back, Blake, the fight, the moon goddess, my mark. My mark? "My mark!"

I hop out of bed, well more like fall to the floor and getting up, walking to my bathroom as best as I can. "Alexis, you can't be out of bed." Xander trys to pull me back to bed but I just slap his hands away.

Xander just decides to help me to the bathroom instead of fighting me. He shuts the door behind for me, assuming I have to use the toilet. Well now that I think about it, I do.

When I look in the mirror, the mark is gone. I check multiple times to make sure I haven't gone crazy. A small laugh escapes my lips and before I know it, im doing a happy dance while laughing like a crazy person.

"Alexis, you okay?" I swing the door open and hop into Xander's arms, crashing my lips to his. He responds immediately, our lips moving in sync. After a few seconds, I pull away. "It's gone."

"What?" His eye's move down to my lips, still distracted by the kiss. "My mark, it's gone Xander." He looks at me confused for a second before he sets me back on my feet and moves my shirt.

He runs his fingers across the blank space on my shoulder, a wide grin taking over his face. I let out a small squeal as he lifts me up and spins us in circles. "It's gone. I can't believe it's gone. Wait, how's it gone?" He sets me on the bed and I grip my head as the room spins, making me dizzy.

"Sorry Alexis, here take a sip of water and the doctor said to take your medication." He hands me a small glass and three different shaped pills.

"Now, how is it gone?" He takes the glass from me when I'm done and sits beside me. "The moon goddess, she said I needed your mark so she took Blake's away."

"Why would you need my mark?" I think, trying to remember what Belle said. "Aren't you happy that it's gone?" A wave of drowsiness hits me and I lean into Xander. "Of course I'm happy, but I still need to know why."

He wraps his arms around me and I snuggle into his warmth. "She said I'm dying." His body stiffens and he pulls away, making me miss his warmth. "You're dying?" I pull him back to me, dragging him down to lay on the bed with me.

"Yes, I'm dying Xander. Being Queen is killing me and I need your mark so you can take some of the responsibility as King, but we can take care of that later, I'm too tired right now so can we please just lay here and be lazy?" I look up at Xander while he rubs small circles on my back.

"If that's what you want. We can stay inside, eat junk food, and watch movies. I can even take care of the pack stuff for you. But we will have to talk later, I have some news from your father." He kisses my forehead as my eyes flutter shut. "Goodnight Alexis."
