Chapter 14

"Kids, go to your parents and act natural." I whisper to the children I was playing with and they head off playing. I peek out of the corner of my eye to make sure the wolf is still there. Sure enough, he's sitting there watching me.

I make my way a little ways down before entering the woods, making sure he's following me. I walk a few yards when I feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. He's here.

I stay facing away from him and hear his paws approaching behind me. I turn around right as he pounces at me and grab him by the neck, holding him in the air. "Hello friend, wanna have some fun?" A sinister smile spreading along my face as he growls at me.

I slam him up against a tree and tighten my hold. "It was nice of Jack to send me a new friend, I was getting bored." He claws at my hands and trys to bite me but I throw him across the clearing into another tree.

"Don't you know it's rude to hurt your friends?" He gets up and crouches down, signaling he's going to attack. "Submit. I'm not in the mood to fight." I pinch the bridge of my nose but he keeps growling. "Fine. Come on then, attack."

He comes running at me and jumps. I roll just before he can land on me and kick him in the stomach causing him to land on his side.

I grab him by the neck and position him so he can't move. "Shift and I'll let you live." I say threw clenched teeth, a headache forming at the back of my head.

He does as I say and I hand him a pair of pants we keep laying around. "Let's go." I hold onto his arm and drag him while I walk. "I thought you were gonna let me live?" He asks a little scared.

"I am, doesn't mean I can't have some fun." After an hour of walking we make it back to my house. Josh and Danny are waiting outside with a few guards by their side.

"Take him to the dungeon. I need food." They head off and I go inside to make grilled cheese and tomato soup because why not. I take a few pain killers and eat before heading out to the woods behind my house.

I like to keep the dungeon close so if anyone escapes, which they won't, it'll be easier to catch them. I walk up to a metal door and punch in a code to unlock it. The codes my birthday, who would ever guess that?

When it unlocks I head inside and into a trap door that leads underground. After passing through several sound proof doors and guards I finally find Josh and Danny.

"What have you found out?" I look through the window of the metal door where Danny is inside "talking" to the spy. "His name is Abe, he's 33 years old, and one of Jack's loyals. We couldn't find out anything else."

"Is he sedated?" I look over to Josh. "Just enough so he can't mind link his pack." He replies simply. "Good, do you wanna come with me or wait here?"

"I'll head inside since we weren't able to give him too much wolfsbane. He can still attack if he tried hard enough." I just shrug my shoulders and head inside causing Danny to stop.

"Has he said anything else?" He shakes his head no and I growl in annoyance. "I'll make him talk. Move aside." Danny backs up behind me and I kneel down in front of Abe. "So wanna tell me why you were here so I can leave?"

He just spits some blood at me and laughs. I glare at him before standing. "Fine, tie him to the wall." Josh and Danny pick him up and drag him to the cell wall while I head to a small cabinet placed by the door. "You wanna know my favorite activity Abe?"

I turn to look at him and wait for his answer but he doesn't speak. "Archery. I've always had a fascination with it. That and knives, they've both always caught my eye." I pull out a bow and a hilt of arrows. "Arrows? You know I'll just heal right?"

"Oh you can't smell it?" I walk closer to him with an arrow in my hand. "Come on I know you can." I stop right in front of him. "No? Oh well let me tell you, these are silver arrows. Did you know if I leave these in your body long enough, you won't heal then you'll get an infection and slowly die? Fun, huh?"

I drag the arrow down his exposed chest, watching as the skin burns where it touches, and listen as he lets out small growls. "Now do you wanna talk?"

"No." I shrug my shoulders and walk back to my arrows by the door before turning to face him. Danny and Josh clearing the way so I don't hit them. "Well, I asked nicely."

I pick up the arrow and raise my bow, launching the arrow into the air. It lands right next to his head, cutting the top of his right ear.

"That's the worst you can do?" He laughs. "No, I could kill you but what fun would that be?" I pick up another arrow and aim for his right shoulder. "Why are you here?" He stays silent so I send the arrow flying, hitting its mark. He screams as the silver burns into his skin and I check out my nails waiting for him to quiet down.

"You know, I read your file before coming here." He looks up at me as I point another arrow at him, aiming for his left knee cap. "My file?"

"Yeah, every wolf has one in the kingdom. I noticed that you don't have a mate and your only family left is your brother. He has quite the criminal record." He glares at me and I launch the arrow, earning another round of screams. "What are you getting at?" He says through clenched teeth.

"Oh you know just how big of a shame it would be if he was arrested and spent the rest of his days suffering torture like this until he died. I mean he's only 23, hasn't even met his mate yet." I make a "tsk" sound as he growls at me. In a flash I'm right in front of him with a silver dagger at his throat.

"Growl again and I'll kill you then head for your dear baby brother." He swallows a lump in his throat and I lower the knife. "Or, I could get his record wiped clean so he can come out of hiding and live a normal life. All you have to do is answer my questions."

His anger soon filters into a thoughtful look. "You won't kill him?" He asks hesitantly. "No, I'll let him live and he can have a normal life in a pack where he can start a family." I say sincerely.

"What will happen to me?" I think for a second before answering. "I can get some of the charges dropped if you help me with the war. After we win you can either be banished as a rogue or you can have redemption by working for the royal family."

"Alright, I'll talk just don't hurt my brother." I take out the arrows that I shot at him so he can heal and Josh takes him to the chair in the middle of the room.

"Okay so why are you here?" He rubs his shoulder and knee before looking up at me. "Alpha Sutten sent me here to spy and if I could get close enough, kill you. I'm sorry my Queen, but he's my Alpha. I couldn't say no."

He quickly apologizes and I stop him. "Do you know Jack's plans." He shakes his head no. "Only him and some other Alpha are aloud in the meetings to come up with an attack plan. He only tells us to train and be prepared."

"Who is helping him?" I open and close my fists in anger. "Rogues. They're the only ones crazy enough to go against you."

"That's it for now. I'll let you contact your brother. Tell him he can stay here if needed." I tell Josh and Danny to show Abe to a more comfortable cell and to get him a phone before leaving for my house.
