Worry. That's all I can feel as I run through the woods. Xander's emotions have gone from anger, to frustration, and then finally worry. He didn't want me going out on my own, but I'm not alone. I'm with Aiden, Zack, and Sam. We left the pack house over an hour ago, making our way through the woods in our wolves. I wasn't supposed to go with Aiden to rescue his friend, Tatum, from Jack but Aiden isn't officially apart of my pack yet so he wouldn't have been able to check in with us.

I can mind link Josh if something goes wrong, but nothing will. We just have to get in and get out. My wolf was reluctant to leave our mate at first, but eventually she gave in. It's our duty as Queen to protect innocent wolves and she knows that. I blocked out Xander a little bit ago so me and my wolf could focus, he'll trow a fit about it when I get home but I can deal with that.

Sam's auburn wolf slow's down, sniffing the air. "We've reached the border Alexis." He mind links me, I give him a small nod before making my way behind a tree, my wolf giving me back control. I shift back and get dressed in the clothes I was holding. I come back around where all three boy's are waiting patiently. "Ready?"

I ask, they all nod and I pull open the bag I had packed before we left. "Are you sure this is going to work?" Aiden looks at the four vials I pull from the bag. "I had these flown in from the science lab at the royal castle last night, we've been working on it for years and they swore they got it right." I hand one vial to each male standing around me. The green bubbly liquid making a hissing sound when we unscrew the lids. "It's safe right?"

Zack, the boy who was supposed to be Aiden's Beta speaks up. "It'll just mask our scent so they won't know when we've entered their territory, there shouldn't be any side affects." They all take deep breathes and chug the liquid. They toss their vials back in my bag, looking to me. I take a deep breath, sending a quick prayer to moon goddess this works out, I drink the weird substance. It burns my throat and I resist the urge to gag. I toss the vial with the others and zip up the small pouch. "Did it work?" Sam asks. "Do you smell our pack scent on me?" He takes a quick sniff in my direction and shakes his head no.

"It worked." I sling the back over my shoulder and lead the group farther into the woods, stepping over the pack border. I pause, waiting to see if any guards come rushing at us and continue on when none come. Aiden takes the lead, walking us in the direction away from the pack house where his father sleeps. "If he was discovered, he'll be in the pack prison." Technically Aiden and Zack are rogues or else they'd just mind link him. We take the long way through the woods, careful to avoid any guards out on patrol.

It takes awhile, but we eventually make it. We crouch down behind some bushes, watching as a new set of guards comes through and switches shifts with the others. "Okay, what's the plan?" They look to me at Sam's question. I created three different scenarios, one being we get in and get out without a problem, the second being if we get caught, we fight and escape before they can spread news to Jack, the third and final being if Jack arrives, they get out while I hold him off since he can't hurt me unless he wants death. I had told the three boys of the first two scenarios before we left, but kept the last one to myself, knowing they would reject it and tell Xander.

"I was able to find a couple doses of wolfs bane. Two of us will have to find a way behind the guards at their shift rotation. When they're out of the way, we'll have exactly half an hour to find Tatum and get to the border. If we shift and run at full speed, we should get about half way to the border by the time the new guards get here and see the pair knocked out." They agree with my plan and after 20 minutes of waiting, the shift rotation comes. The old guards make their way to the North, disappearing into the night right as two new guards show up from the South.

Sam and Zack make their way around and grab them when they're not looking. When the wolfs bane enters their system, they're out in a matter of seconds. We hide them in the bushes and make our way through the maze that is the prison. We make our way past four steel doors before we actually find the right level. "Tatum." Zack whispers into the deathly quiet abyss. His voice bouncing off the walls, making it louder.

"Tatum." He calls out again, louder this time. "Here." We hear a hoarse voice respond as we walk down the hall. I check my watch, I had set a timer on it to tell us when our time was up. "Go get him now, we only have 15 minutes." Zack quickly unlocks a rusty cell door, the squeaking of the hinges being the only thing heard throughout the cells.

On the floor is a boy, no older than 16, chained with silver and cuts all along his arms and face. "He's a child." I say through clenched teeth at Aiden as I make my way to the little boy on the floor. "He wanted to stay." He talks back and I send a glare to him from over my shoulder. "We'll talk about this later." He shut's up as I examine the chains around Tatum's arms and feet. "They're silver. We'll have to find the key." I look to my watch. Only 8 minutes left. "No time." I call back to Zack.

I curl my hands around the chains on his hands, I close my eye's, calling to my wolf for some of her strength, I open my eye's knowing they're glowing a bright gold. I yank as hard as I can, the chains shattering in my hands. I move to his feet, feeling everyone's eye's on me, yanking again. Sam bends down to pick him up as we all make our way out of the cell. "We took too long. Everybody shift, it'll be quicker." They do as I say, their clothes ripping. Tatum climbs on top of Aiden's black and white speckled wolf and we all run.

We make it out of the prison and through the woods as fast as we can. I can hear the breaking of branches behind us, telling me the guards are catching up. "Alexis, they're rogues." Sam shouts to me through our mind link. I growl in frustration. Rogues wont let my friends live if they're caught, they aren't an important part of this war, I am. "Go, I'll hold them off." Sam makes an abrupt stop, but Zack and Aiden keep going at my say so.

"I can't leave you Alexis." He makes a move to push me forward with his snout but I move away. "They'll kill you if you're caught. Go with the other's and get Tatum back safely, that's an order." I hand him the bag in my mouth as his wolf submits. He takes the bag without hesitation, and runs along, telling me to be safe before he disappears. Seven rogues surround me and I give a warning growl that echos through the woods.

They hesitate for a second before coming in closer. I take a swipe at the one closets to me, making claw marks down it's face. They move in closer, all pouncing at once. I dodge a few while biting at a few others. I take a bite from one's neck, it drops to the floor as I head for another. Soon there's only three left while I only have a few bites and scratches on me. I go after another one when I hear a blood curdling growl sound around me, making everyone freeze.

Blake is standing a few feet away with Jack and an army of guards behind him. "Stop fighting Alexis or your friends won't make it past the border. We already have guards waiting, just come with us and I'll call them off." Blake gives me a sinister smile while tossing a shirt in my direction. "Shift." I give in even though my wolf is telling me not to and shift, sliding on the over sized shirt as quick as possible.

"Good girl, now no fighting." I'm grabbed from behind by a rogue, my hands forced to my sides as Blake comes forward. "I should have killed you when I had the chance." I tug at the arms holding me, but don't get free. "But you being the good little girl you are, didn't want to violate the peace treaty my father signed with yours years ago." He says flatly as he drags his hand down my arm. I pull away but he stops me, pulling out a small needle. "Sorry dear, but it's time to nap. We'll have some fun later." The needle pricks my skin as I feel the cold liquid rush into my blood stream. "Good night, sleep tight." That's the last thing I hear before it goes dark.
