Blue. His eyes were a mixture of a blue, somewhat greenish and grey. It strangely reminded her of a dark storm. A Strom in the sea, recoiling in those eyes. His eyes. His touch....so warm and....
Anika jerked up, her heart hammering and sweat dampened on her forehead. Her breath came out in small gasps as she placed a trembling hand over her chest.
What was that??? What in the world was she dreaming about? His eyes?
Last night's doing's replayed in her mind. She squeezed her eyes shut, as an effort to keep them out. Intense smothering eyes flickered behind her closed lids. Anika groaned opening her eyes.
He was messing with her. She just knew it. And she wasn't going to let him get away with it. Taking a determined breath she pulled herself out of bed, hurriedly getting dressed.
The light ring of her phone indicating messages, stopped her. She paused, checking her messages. " WOO!!!" she cheered, suddenly. Throwing her hands up, she waggled her bum, swaying her hips from side to side. It was her happy dance. And this moment really called for one.
The hospital where she wanted to do her internship was asking her to drop by to check in a few details before she started her internship. Finally! Anika grinned, she had been waiting forever for her acceptance from the hospital. They were finally ready to have her. The day was already to a good start and she was sure her little surprise for a bagad billa would also be a grand success.
Minutes later she bounded down along the corridor, her master piece tucked carefully in her pocket. she slowed down and slowly padded towards a huge door. The rest of the house hold were already bustling down stairs, it was the perfect time for her to execute her plan.
Her hand closed around the heavy handle, the metal felt cold against her flushed hand. She stepped in, her senses already on high alert. She took a deep breath, collecting her courage, she slipped inside and the door shut close behind her.
Dadi sat in her usual place, at the head of the table, with a prominent frown in place. Sadly it didn't seem to have any effect on her family. Her grandchildren were still sleeping and her children were stuffing their mouths, while their heads were either buried in a newspaper or a phone.
"what's up people!?" Rudra hooted in his usual obnoxiously loud voice. Both Jhanvi and Tej grunted a reply, and Dadi didn't even bother to answer.
"well someone is in a bad mood" Rudra chuckled as he took in Dadi's expression. He leant forward picking up his protein shake, he planted a quick kiss in her forehead "what's wrong beautiful?"Dadi humphed and folded her hands against her chest, grateful that someone had finally noticed her.
"none cares about me" she declared sourly.Tej looked up from his paper , "ma ? Why would you say something like that?"
" Because it's the truth!" Dadi huffed, rolling her eyes.
Jhanvi looked up from her phone for the first time, with a worried expression. " what's wrong ma?"
Dadi's face morphed automatically into a sad, weakened expression, as she closed her eyes, dramatically and looked away sniffling slightly. Rudra watched, amused at his grandma's talent.
Jhanvi got up hurriedly, rushing to Dadi's side. She wound an arm around her shoulders, " tell me what's wrong ma?"
" Yeah! tell us Dadi " Anika's slightly out of breath voice, suddenly piped up in the conversation. She slipped into one of the chairs trying her best to look casual and not like she might have just started a war, knowingly. She didn't have to try hard, her appearance was however unnoticed as everyone concentrated on Dadi.
