Anika gulped as she stared at the room, at the end of the corridor. She really wished she didn't have to do this. After the morning's episode, she couldn't bear to meet his eyes. He had striped her of whatever little pride she had. Unfortunately Jhanvi aunty did no quiet get this.
Sighing she walked on, dragging her feet, trying to slow the process as much as she could. She bent her head watching her feet drag in a pathetically delayed mode.
Just as she passed an open room, a heavy grunt stopped her. She took a step back curiously, peeping through a narrow opening of the door.
Inside was a messy bed and lying nearly half on the ground, was a hunched figure. Heavy grunts that seemed to turn into pants echoed through the room. The person couldn't seem to get onto their feet, despite the struggle.Pausing only a moment, Anika pushed open the door. It creaked open, the person on the floor didn't seem to notice her arrival.
A pungent smell hit her as she took a small, hesitant step inwards. She could tell it was a man, by his clothing. The room was a messier plight than the bed. Anika looked around, bewildered. The room seemed to be on an another planet comparatively to the remaining, highly maintained, mansion.
What was happening here? Who was this man and why wasn't anyone taking care of him?!
His panting increased and Anika looked at him, worry etching into her mind. She had to help him. She shuffled taking another step.
She got no further before a hand, gripping her elbow, pulled her back and out of the room. Anika gasped as she was whipped around forcefully.
Before she could catch her breath, she was slammed hard into a wall. Anika winced, as her back throbbed with pain. She looked up angrily, only to find Shivaay's face inches from hers. He planted his hands on either side of her face, on the wall, trapping her. Her breath hitched, as she looked into his eyes.
His face was frozen, as if carved out of stone, he wore no expression. But his eyes blazing with rage, bore into Anika's.
"What the hell were you doing?" he asked, his voice barely audible. It only made it more deadly.
"Huh?" Anika blinked, finding her vocal cords. She blinked, confused.
" That man..." she said pointing a finger towards the room." that man needed my help""No he doesn't" Shivaay replied curtly.
"Who is he? What is wrong with him?" her voice came out with great difficulty. Her mind seemed to lag, failing to grasp the swing of events. Her mind still hovered around the man.
"Listen to me" his voice sliced through her thoughts, and she looked up into his eyes. They blaze, with fire, cold fire. His jaw clenched, as if he was controlling himself. A cold shiver travelled through her."I am going to say this once" he continued " so you better listen carefully" his gaze intensified " you are just a guest, so start behaving like one. You do NOT have the right to go around and open any door you feel like. You do NOT question anyone about anything. And most importantly don't interfere with my family and try to become a family member."
Anika sucked in a sharp breath. His words hurt more than they should. So harsh. And she had no idea what had caused this outcome from him. She looked down, trying to get a grip of herself.
When "you don't belong here" he said suddenly. Anika's eyes snapped up to meet his. "and you never will"
She swallowed and grounded her teeth, biting back tears that threatened to overflow.
"Hey!" Om's voice flitted abruptly. Shivaay straightened, dropping his hands. As Om approached them cautiously, followed by a worried looking Rudra.
