"How has everything been, you know with all the changes?" Emily asks as she roasts her marshmallow in the fire.

"It's great Emily, it really is," I say full of honesty. I smile, looking over to where Jackson and the rest of the group are, kicking around a soccer ball but instead of Jackson kicking the ball, he's kicking it with his crutches.

"Miki and I are so happy that you are back to your usual, happy self. I can tell that Jackson has changed you a lot." She states.

"Yeah, I guess he has made me come of out that shell that was holding me back from living. He has taught me how to control myself in situations that will get my anger rising in a minute. You know I've only had two blowouts the entire time I've been at this new school, which was when Jackson was in the hospital and Jake came over?" I tell her while pulling Jackson's jumper more up my neck, trying to block the cold wind.

"I'm so happy for you Ella. I noticed before when we were all sitting around the fire that you had a sad look on your face, what was that all about?" She asks curiously.

"I don't want to tell him this yet because I think that I'm just over thinking about it too much but I feel like he doesn't trust me," I say more quietly so none of the others can hear me.

"Why do you think that?"

"Well, his father isn't in his life and every time I talk about my dad he gets all stiff. He hasn't told me anything and I've told him everything." I complain.

"Even Brayden?" She asks.

"Yeah, even Brayden." I nod twirling my stick with a marshmallow on it, in the fire.

"Just give him a bit more time, or even tell him without telling him," Emily suggests.

I grab two biscuits and a cube of chocolate and assemble my s'more.

"Yeah, cause that makes so much sense Emily," I say sarcastically, shoving the gooey goodness in my mouth

"You know what I mean. Tell him without making it sound like you want to know what happened in the past." She explains.

"Yeah but how exactly do I say that?" I pause. "Nah, you know what? I'll just forget about it, he'll tell me when he's ready." I say, trying to change subjects.

"Or you could do that," Emily says chucking a whole marshmallow in her mouth.

"How's everything back at home?" I ask Emily.

"You know, same same." She shrugs.

"That's good, I guess," I say, putting a sticky marshmallow in my mouth. Emily and I just sit there in silence listening to the fire burn the wood and watching Liam throw Miki over his shoulder and starts jogging towards Emily and I. Miki squeals and Emily and I both start to laugh. I look back at the fire and the warmth of it engulfs me as I feel arms wrap around my torso.

"MMM, you're nice and warm." Jackson coos in my ear as he snuggles his head on my shoulder.

"Its the jumper." I chuckle. "Come, sit down," I said patting the spot next to me on the grass. Jackson unwraps himself from me and places his crutches beside us and makes his way slowly down to the ground, then grabs me so my back is leaning on his chest, looking towards the fire.

Everyone is now sitting around the bonfire, Emily cuddling with Ben and the same with Miki and Liam.

"Guys, lets play who the fact belongs to, the one where we all write down a fact about us, put it in a bowl and go around a circle and you have to read out the fact and guess who it belongs to?" Ben asks while explaining at the same time. We all agree to play.
