I looked around the field, unsure what to do, but soon was answered by an announcement.
"Hello those who passed the first test to enter the tower! We sincerely welcome you to the second floor! Evankhell's floor! Also known as the floor of tests, to see if you are qualified to go up the tower. The first test is simple. I will explain the rules once, so listen carefully. There are 400 regulars here. Narrow down 400 to 200 by any means possible! The test when 200 remain! Ready, Begin!"
A voice nearby screamed and I jolted around the tall grass, trying to pinpoint where it came from. I heard a slight whistle of the wind above me and dodged backwards. In front of my landed a dark skin girl about my age, maybe a bit older. She held two swords and stood in the flying dust in front of me, her dark brown almost black thick hair pulled back into a high bun with a yellow sash.
"Look what I found." She grinned, her dark chocolate eyes piercing into my soul.
I gripped my staff tightly, not sure whether wooden weapon would protect me against the sharp metal blades.
She burst out laughing. "You think a wooden weapon would be any good against me?" She was about to attacked when we both froze, hearing a rustle in the grass and saw a girl much smaller than me, with silver hair and eyes enter the clearing.
"You're a silver dwarf! A guide!" The other girl realized. She lowered her blades as she stared transfixed on the tiny guide.
"If you two kill each other or me, then all three of us fail the next test." The guide says with a high pitched voice, which seemed to echo in my ears. "We need three people to pass the next test and there's no one else nearby who's alive for a mile."
"And, how do you know that? Do you see it with your all seeing eyes, dwarf?" The other girl rolled her eyes.
"As a matter of fact. I did. And my name is Mercy Marlee. Not guide. Not dwarf." She pinched her nose bridge, annoyed.
I noticed a small blade in her hand, suggesting that the knife was more of for defense than for attacking.
"Fine. Whatever. But if you're lying about the next round, you're dead. I'm Kal Yeoja. And I have no idea who this one is." Kal pointed her thumb towards me after she sheathed her swords, "She hasn't said a word."
I looked at the two of them and sighed, letting my grip loosen around my weapon and my knuckles return from white. "My name is Jigu Kkoch." I whispered, extremely shy.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you? Was there a buzzing in my ear?" Kal teased, cupping her ear and leaning closer to me.
"I said my name is Jigu Kkoch!" I shouted directly in her ear, as she didn't even flinch.
"Ah, that's better. You're Jigu, you're Mercy, I'm Kal. Now that we all know each other, can we fight?" Kal whined like a little puppy.
"No, because..." Mercy pointed up as an announcement played.
"The first test is now over! The remaining regulars, stop what you're doing and listen carefully! Anyone still fighting will be eliminated. The second test will begin immediately. The second test is 'getting teammates!' You must be in groups of three and touching all your teammates in order to be considered a team! You get a five minute limit! Everyone not on a team will be eliminated!"
"Good call Dwarf." Kal smirked.
"Don't call me dwarf!" Mercy groaned and took Kal's hand.
"You coming Grassy?" Kal opened her hand today's me.
