"Where are we going?!" Ewart shouted at Jeonsa, her long pigtails whipping him in his face and on his arms as she dragged him along.
"To a clearing. If we could lure the beast there, you could do the same trick you did on the traps from after we landed." He could barely hear her over the wind.
"What?! What did you say?!" He shouted, wincing as her hair smacked him in the face and the needles from the orange spruce trees that had gotten caught in them left a scratch on his cheek.
She slowed to a stop in a wide clearing. "That trick you did to disable the traps after we landed in here. Do you think you could do that again, and trap the feet of the beast? Or at least one foot?"
"That?! That took a lot out of me! And I used shinsu to do it on that level! Didn't you see the baangs that were floating around me?!"
"I did. But if you combine it with something you already have that is crystal, and make the crystal grow, wouldn't it be easier, and you wouldn't have to turn everything?"
"Well..." He thought. He had never thought of it that way. "I suppose that could work. I have never tried to do that before though..."
"Well you better try." She grabbed the crystalized spruce needles that he had been playing with earlier and put it on the ground. She pulled out Oblivion, the shiny dual bladed sword unscratched. She put her pointer and middle finger on the high point of the shorter blade and the ring and pinky finger on the lower point of the longer blade, muttering a shinsu spell. "Wave of Ancestral Rage." She glowed a shade of white, ready to attack the beast when it came.Ewart looked at the crystal needles on the ground worried, as he heard stomping and felt the ground shake as the Shinsu Shrieker sensed Jeonsa's use of shinsu and was coming their way.
He took a shaky breath and gently put his hands onto the crystalized plant, trying to focus so he could trap the beast with it when it was time, but no sooner or later.
He tried to focus, but felt baangs start dripping off his crystals and rising as they had done earlier when he disabled to traps. He had to do this without shinsu.
He kept his eyes closed to focus.
He felt the beast growing closer and closer by the minute. One stomp nearly threw him off his feet, but he keep his steadiness and shot his eyes open as he activated the crystals, and trapped the beast's front two legs.
It roared in surprise and anger, as Ewart struggled to keep the crystals strong to hold it there. "J-Jeonsa! Hurry!" He shouted, his arms shaking as the crystals that were part of him vibrated from the creature's roars. It hurt to feel the beast thrashing and trying to break through the crystals. He had connected them to himself to further strengthen him, as the ones on his arms had merged with the ground.
She attempted to attack the beast, and stabbed a sensitive spot on the back of it's neck, as it roared and shrieked.
Fire hit the beast in the mouth, the weakest part of it all, while the monster thrashed and soon fell limply to the ground.
Jeonsa slid off the back and looked who sent the fire, seeing Zelpha from the previous floors there. She didn't say anything as she flew off to find the exit.
Jeonsa looked as the crystals vanished, but she saw no sign of Ewart. "Ewart?" She questioned, looking around.
She lifted the beast's paw with ease to find him under it, looking exhausted. That had taken a lot out of him.
She didn't ask if he was alright, as she scooped him up onto her back and carried him away from the beast as it slowly disappeared the simulation ending as they had defeated it. A door was seen in the distance, as well as the few Regulars who had survived.
She walked towards it, occasionally adjusting the Blue Crystal who had fallen asleep in exhaustion as she carried him on her back.
Once they were cleared to move onto the next round, she headed up to the room that was said to have their team in it.
Noe opened the door, "Jeonsa! You made it!" She grinned, then saw Ewart. "Is Ewart ok?!"
Jeonsa gave a slight nod and came in, carefully laying him onto the couch.
"He just needs some rest."
"So what was it like?!" Noe asked her best friend thousands of questions, not letting her have a chance to answer any. When she finally quieted, Jeonsa answered."It was ok."
"Well, once Ewart is awake, we should head up onto the next floor. There is a rumor that the next floor is the floor of the fishermen, so me and Dustin would be tested." She beamed.
"You sure? You still need rest. You are still healing."
"I am sure." She nodded. "I am ready. Now, let's get those knots out of your hair." The pine needles had vanished with the simulation as Jeonsa nodded and sat down, letting Noe play with her long hair until the Khun fell asleep.
Jeonsa grabbed a blanket and tucked her friend in, before going to take a shower. She looked in the mirror at all her scrapes and cuts from when the monster had easily thrown her aside.
She gently cleaned them, most scabbed over and having stopped bleeding, before she washed her hair.
She watched as pink tinted water went down the shower drain. Once done, she looked back in the mirror.
Rather than seeing herself as she was, she saw herself with glowing eyes, covered in blood. Rage was the only emotion she could describe as she looked at herself. She quickly raced out of the bathroom, shaking in fear.
Why?Why was that always there?
