I looked at the course which laid in front of us.
"This doesn't look too hard." Noe smiled softly, and leaped over a structure, before screaming as she was falling. Edric quickly dived down and caught her, flying her back upwards onto ground as she was shaking. "I take that back... Thanks Edric...." She whispered, looking dazed.
"You're welcome. Are you ok?" He asked worried for his team mate."
She nodded before slowly sitting down on the ground to regain her senses.
I looked at the course. "There are probably a lot of secrets on this course. Lots of traps to make us fall. So I think that Edric and I will be ready in case any of us fall. I can catch you guys with the lighthouses."
"Why can't you just float us over the course with them?" Kal stated the obvious.
"The challenge is not to complete the course, it's to survive it." Dustin looked at it. "If we just floated over it, we could immediately get disqualified. But at least by having Edric and Jigu on hand, if one of us fall, we don't die."
I faintly heard one of the other teams having one of them yell at them, something about save me blue turtle.
"So, who goes first?" Mercy asked, as the others stepped backwards, leaving the guide up closest to the beginning of the course. She turned and glared at them. "Real smooth guys. Real smooth." She mumbled, and looked at it. She jumped to the platform that Noe had missed, and looked at the next one. Dustin followed after her, then Noe and Jesona, Noe holding tightly onto one of Jesona's pigtails, scared to fall again.
Weldon jumped towards the platform and nearly lost his footing, but regained it after Edric pushed him onto the platform when he jumped. Ewart jumped ahead of me, and Kal and I went last, my lighthouses visible and ready to catch anyone.
"What is the point of this? Why have us train jump over things when we can fight things?" Kal whined.
"You will fight anything and everything Kal. Now is not the time nor place." I chuckled.
"There better be fighting later, or I will kick someone's butt. Hard."
I sighed and shook my head, seeing that Edric had swooped down and caught Weldon.
I looked ahead and saw that Mercy was near the end of the course already as Noe was being carried by Jesona, having nearly fallen again and refusing to move. Dustin looked bored from the course as he was jumping through swinging cannonballs that could break your head or bones. "This is far too easy." He sighed.
"Help me then?!" Weldon begged, terrified.
"Dude. Combo move." Ewart grinned as he reached the logs that were swinging.
"I'm not there yet Ewart!"
I caught up with Weldon. "Want me to help you?"
"Yes please..." He sighed.
I lead him through, being cautious that neither of us fell.
Slowly but steadily we made our way to where the others were.
"Now what?" Edric asked. The ground around us began to shift.
"Crap!" Ewart held onto the closest structure as the rest of us wobbled.
A whole new course laid out in front of us, the way we had come.
"Guess we keep doing this from dawn to dusk?" Dustin groaned, not wanting to do that all day.
"Guess we have to." I sighed.
For the rest of the day, we made our way up and down the countless paths. Eventually, the paths vanished and stairs appeared.
