Dustin chased Noe, as they ran for their lives from the beast towards the perfect sea, the waves glimmering with sparkles and silver seafoam.
"This was your plan?! Get it's attention and have it chase and kill us?!"
"Getting attention. Yes. Chase us. Definitely. Kill us. We are going to kill it." She panted between each word she spoke, before they were on the beach that was being lapped with the ocean's salty water. She turned around and skidded to a stop, bringing out her whip.
Dustin skidded to a stop by her, tripping over one of his feet as he face planted into the sand thanks to a thump of the beast's feet. He spat out the small particles of the silicone dioxide. "Ok. We are at the ocean. Cornered. So now what?" He got up, quickly brushing himself off.
"I need you, when it's time, to use the water to pull the beast of power into the ocean, as deep as you can." Her whip cracked the air, as crackles of lightning filled the black leather weapon.
"Pull. The beast of power. Into the ocean. And what good will that do?!"
"The beast is weaker in water. It is cold blooded and needs to be in warmth, not cold." Noe rolled her eyes, Ghost Walker growing in length as she willed it to do so, preparing to take down the beast.
"Yeah. Yeah, right. Giant, thing, is cold blooded. So sea water will kill it. We are all going to die here today." Dustin hung his head and went and hid in a small cave.
Noe took a breath, trying to calm the burning of her cuts all over her body. The beast stomped closer and closer, before stopping right in front of her. It appeared be confused. Was it not following two people? Where was the other?
"I am sorry Jarrett. You would have loved to have seen them." Noe whispered softly, a lone tear falling down her face. "Shinsu technique. Flash of Ancestral Fury."
Lightning from Ghost Walker crackled up her clothes and exposed skin, covering her in a thin layer of electricity that appeared to make her glow blue. Then, water from the ocean behind her slid through the sand and up her legs, and weaved with the electricity, until it froze around it as ice armor.
Her whip cracked once more as she felt strength and she went towards the beast, the electricity crackling from the armor zapping him, making the creature roar in anger and pain."Now Dustin!" Noe ordered, wrapping the beast's left leg in her whip, to make sure it did not run or step on her.
"Shinsu te... Noe watch out!" Dustin shouted as the beast's right leg stepped forward, ready to step on his teammate. Noe's eyes widened in fear, as it got closer and closer, before smashing onto her.
Sand particles went flying in every which way, as Dustin quickly used the shinsu technique to get rid of the monster. "Shinsu technique, reverse siphon!" The water from the ocean flooded the beach around the monster, before wrapping around it and yanking it deep into the ocean.
It roared and thrashed, the thorns on its back opening and quaking in fear as if it were a porcupine. The other surviving regulars cheered as it sank deep into the sea.
Dustin raced over to where Noe had been standing before the monster stepped on her, praying with the very little hope he had, that she was somehow still alive. When he reached there, he did not see her crushed body, but rather saw a steaming hole.
"Noe?!" He ran to it, and peered over the edge, afraid to see what was inside.
The Khun was weakly leaning against the dirt wall as she sat at the bottom in a thin layer of water. "I-I am ok Dustin. I am ok." She panted exhausted, her armor gone.
Dustin chuckled in relief and powered up Ironwood, using the staff part of the scythe to lift her up and out of the hole.
As soon as he had her leaning against him, the simulation ended and left them in a dark room with the other regulars, the only thing visible other than the others themselves was a white door.
Everyone made their way over there. And went in one by one.
"You scared me teamy." Dustin whispered to Noe. "I thought you were going to leave me and made me the only fisherman on the team."
"I didn't come this far for nothing." She chuckled tiredly, her legs numb as she struggled to walk, even with her arm wrapped around his shoulder. "I am a fighter."
Dustin looked at her. "Yeah. I guess you are. But, can I ask a question?""Shoot."
"Why, why have you never mentioned your brother before? Did you guys having a falling out or something?"
Noe looked down sadly, resisting on crying. Every emotion went through her head in less than a quarter of a second, before she gloomily replied. "He died. That is all I will say about it." She shakily let go of Dustin's shoulder and pulled her mostly purple jacket closer to herself, limping through the simulation door as Dustin watched sadly and with worry. He followed after her once she had fully vanished within it."Noe! Dustin!" Kal raced over to the two fishermen who tried to adjust to the sudden change in light, and tackled them in a hug, squeezing the life out of them. "You made it!"
"K-Kal..."
"C-Can't..."
"BREATHE!" They both struggled for breath as they tried to get free from the scout's arms.
"Oh. Whoops. Sorry." She gave a sheepish smile. "Now come on! We gotta hurry! My floor is next!" She grinned.
"Actually, I think we should all get some rest before moving on." Weldon suggested, "I... Am not as ready for the scout tests as you are Kal..."
"That is queen pinguino to you mister. And yes, you are ready. Now come on! Let's go!" She bounced.
Dustin rubbed the back of his head, "Actually, I agree with Weldon. Noe and I just had a pretty hard test... I think it is a good time to rest."
"Awe, you guys are lammeeeeeeee." Kal crossed her arms and pouted, looking away from everyone.
Edric let out a snort, trying to hide his laughter at the sight. "It's ok Kal. I'm sure we can spar or something while they rest.
"My name is not Kal."
"Then what is it now?"
"The penguin queen." She had a sly smirk.Edric couldn't hold back his laughter anymore as it boomed and filled the air around the team. It was one of those types of laughter that once the person started laughing, almost no one could resist joining in. The whole team giggled or at least cracked a smile.
"Come on team, let's go get some rest." I smiled. I went to a portal and paid the fee for the whole team to be transported to a rest zone in between the tenth and eleventh floor. One by one, we entered the portal to be zapped to the small hut-like houses that were waiting for its occupants.
