I reviewed over the two team's files to see who would be best to pair with who in order for the team I chose to win. I knew it was not fair to the other team, but in the tower, the stakes were never just for yourself, unless you traveled alone. But even then, the tower was always a test.

I do not know the actual stakes for the other team. Was this one of the actual tower floor tests that they had to pass?

Was this an arena where they all trained to get stronger?

Were the people even the people, or were they just a computer simulation?

I took a breath. I wouldn't know unless I passed this level. For my team.

I pulled up files of both the Regular A's of each team. Regular A on my team was a scout. His mop top of kinky hair was shaved on the sides as he was sharpening his swords, peering over at the other team. He appeared to be the strongest, but you could never trust a book by it's cover.

I looked at the other scout, Regular D, a girl. She just sat, staring at the other team, trying to get a read on them. Her mace laid idly by her side, stained from previous battles presumingly, but every point sharpened. She turned to A, and as I had picked their team, I could hear what they said now.

"Dong. That one guy, the one with the snake. He keeps eyeing you."

Dong, which I assumed was a nickname, looked over at the Anima on the other team, making him turn away. "Of course they would. He's from the Lo Po Bia family. Can't you see the mark on the back of his neck?" He nodded towards it. "He also has the eyes of Jahad on his robe."

"He is a child of the families?!"

"And an anima. From what I can see."

The girl grumbled. "Great. So much for the bonus points."

"Hey, I have faith in the lightbearer. They will get us through."

So they knew that I had picked them, but not who I was. That also meant that if they did fail, they just didn't get the money.

The lightbearer, regular B, walked away from F, towards Dong and D. "It is not an easy test for them, Dong. I struggled with it. Remember when me and Tech had to take it twice, because I messed up? We almost had to take it a third time had my last choice not had the bombs."

"Yeah, I know Jang. But hey. The only thing we have to lose is not getting the extra points for the market."

I was listening to their conversations as I paired them together with the other team. I paired regular F with the other team's female scout, who was occupied by her phone, black sunglasses with pink lenses covering her face as she didn't seem to care a bit.

I also partnered Dong with the Spear Bearer Defender on the other team. Brute strength wouldn't be enough to take down the dull periwinkle skinned man. They needed strength and speed, which would be perfect for the scout.

"SIS!" Regular F ran over the Jang and tackled her, grinning from ear to ear as her little angel like wings fluttered. "I got paired! I know who to fight!"

"Good for you sis." Jang gently pushed the girl off, not looking happy to have been tackled.

"So have I Cheo." Dong nodded to the small screen he got.

I looked over the other files. Both Light Bearers had lighthouses, but the one that was called Tech seemed to live up to her name or nickname, her lighthouse all vamped out. They even had some version of a code that was similar to the Edna Code, but rather, it set up decoy lighthouses in a cube shape to create a massive looking lighthouse.

I compared it to the data of the other teams, and decided to pair her to fight against the strongest Wave controller. The demonic girl was swinging around her flail, trying to look tough, as a baang charged around the sphere.

"Hey, boss. We got an issue." The fisherman who sported a rifle ran over. "I can't use Insan. The barrel is jammed." The blush red-head handed it over. "It was perfectly fine before we left the loft, now..."

Dong took it to inspect it, as I checked the weapon name and status. The Voices of Insanity was indeed disabled. Banned by the test floor.

"Well crap. Here. Take Solution." He handed back the gun and gave over one of the swords he had, holding Problem in his other hand.
"Crap." I whispered. He needed both swords to take down the defender. And I couldn't unpair them, but there was no way for me to reach them to offer a plan.

My fingers tapped nervously against the keyboard, trying to figure out what the do.

His stats were still well balanced enough that he could possibly be fine, but at the same time, it was too risky.

I took a breath and paired the fisherman against another fisherman, who also had a pistol that was blocked. She was sharpening her personal sword, and I had no idea how well my fisherman was with a sword, as there was nothing on the file.

I quickly paired the rest of the team together with the opposite team, as time was running out to decide. I did my best to keep it balanced, keeping the stronger ones to the less strong ones, but was still worried about the two fishermen.

When one opponent was taken down, the victor could help their team to take down other ones. But they would have half the normal damage points put onto the enemy if they did.

I looked over the files after I finalized the teams, and took a deep breath.

I turned to look at the enter key on the keyboard, before looking up at the scene below. Once I pressed enter, it would be out of my hands.

I took one more deep breath, before pressing that key, and watching as the arena the regulars were in shift.
