The arena shifted below the feet of the regulars, so that the partners were matched up.
I watched the counter count backwards, starting at ten. Dong looked at the Defender in front of him, trying to figure out what to do. "Obviously we don't match at strength... So I must count on my speed." He looked at the clock as it hit 3. 2. 1.
The two teams charged and clashed. It was out of my hands from here.
I watched the scene below.
Dong dodged a hit from the Defender on the other team, the battle axe nearly hitting him blade first, clearly sharpened for an easy slice. "Woah!"
He gripped Problem tightly and swung up the sword to stop the axe from hitting him again. When the axe, Lockjaw, according to the file, hit the blade, it sent Dong backwards, his feet scraping the floor.
I watched as four people took flight, three of them by wings, one by lighthouse, before another lighthouse joined.
The three flying with wings, two were of the other team, while the one flying with her wings on the team I had picked was trying to not be hit by the daggers that the scout threw at her, before yanking them back with the chains attached to throw them again to try to pin the girl down to the ground.
I heard an explosion and turned to look at where it came from. One of the fliers on the other team had bombs and were dropping it in the attempt to knock their opponent off their feet.
I watched the nerve wracking scene below. If this failed... I would have to do it again.
Hearing a screech, I turned to where one of my light bearers had been thrown off her lighthouse. She hit the ground and glitched out of place, presumingly out.
"SIS!" The youngest girl with wings screeched as her white whip in her hand started to glow.
"Oh Jahad... Get back!" The other spear bearer shouted, shooting an arrow at her opponent as the girl started to glow. She bolted away from the flying girl, as the rest of the team realized what was happening and quickly tried to back away. The red haired fisherman who looked like he had jaundice struggled to back away, sparring with his opponent, the evergreen forest hair a blur as she swiftly attacked. "Someone a little help over here?!" He shouted as he blocked the unrelenting attack. "I think I am gonna die over here!" He swiped at her as she caught onto his jacket and nicked his bare skin underneath.
"Hold on!" Dong shouted and blocked the Defender's blow, struggling to remain on his feet.
I bit my nails nervously, and watched the scenery below. The one spear bearer was about to go into a fit of rage, which would be good, but I did not know anything about how long it lasted nor how powerful it was.
The entire team except the fisherman was able to get away from the angelic girl who was glowing a vivid gold, before she screeched and fire came out of her eyes. Her whip cracked and burst to flames, before she swopped down and knocked down many of the opposing team, and burning them, causing them to be eliminated.
The purple hair on her head flickered in the firelight that emitted from her whip and eyes, as her wings turned an ash black and she zoomed towards the Defender, taking him out within seconds.
She zig zagged across the arena, taking out each of the other team, leaving only one as she collapsed exhausted, returning back to normal. She was eliminated as she hit the ground.
The team turned to the last regular on the other team, the Anima who had heard the Spear Bearer's shout to get away.
He watched the opposite team with sullen, emotionless eyes.
"It's just one left. We can do it. Right?" The only lightbearer left helped Dong up, as he had been knocked off his feet in surprise before the little sis had taken out the Defender.
"Maybe. But he is from the Lo Po Bia family. It is not going to be easy." He wiped bloodied spit from his lip, having bit his cheek.
"Wait. Where is his snake?" A scout asked, looking around for it, one of her two hair buns having popped free of the weak elastics.
The regular that was made of crystal looked around, before hearing a hiss behind him. He quickly turned around and shot a baang at it, accidentally hitting his teammate instead.
"Ow!" They rubbed their head "Cryst! Careful!"
He didn't flinch to the yelling as he tried to see the snake and where it went.
"If we take out the Anima, it also takes out the snake, right?"
"I don't know. But we can try."
The five that remained from my chosen team got ready to attack the lone member on the other team, before the snake slipped out of the short Spear Bearer's shadow and swiftly wrapped around her like a pig-in-a-blanket. She tried to scream, but her mouth was covered by the slithering scales.
She struggled to reach for an arrow to stab it with, but could not move as the reptile tightened around her.
"Star!" The red crystal man that remained tried to get her out, getting his war hammer ready, but not wanting to hit her.
"Dave, stop. She will be ok. We gotta take out the snake's owner and win this." Dong put a hand on his shoulder.
Dave looked worried before nodding. He turned to the child of the Lo Po Bia family and twirled the handle in his hand, ready to fight.
I sat on the edge of my seat. I knew the Anima was strong. But none of them was their original combatant. Would they be able to stop him?
The two wave controllers both summoned a dozen baangs, and fired them towards the man.
He twirled the spear like a baton, creating a shield that reflected them back, nearly hitting the wave controllers.
The snake caused the spear bearer he had wrapped around to pass out and be eliminated, as they started coming up behind and hissed, baring their fangs as they were ready to bite.
Dong scooped up his other blade he had lent to his teammate that was taken out, and quickly blocked the snake's lunge with both Problem and Solution.
"Go! I got the snake!" he shouted to them, and got into a battle position. "Looks like we will be getting those bonus points and that Lightbearer to pass after all." He smirked, having a look that was similar to one I saw every day.
"Dong... Donglyo Yeoja?..." I whispered to myself, remembering my teammate that talked about their older brother that messaged from floors ahead.
The two gems in the swords lit up, as they seemed to merge together into a larger more powerful single sword.
I watched as he attacked the snake, and as the team took out the lone spear bearer.
Two words popped up on screen, as Dong seemed to look at me and salute, before the screen went black. "You Win!"
I blinked as the Lighthouse powered off, and I climbed out, seeing a few other lighthouses were gone, but most were still in the test, or flashing red.
I gave a deep sigh of relief.Floor 13, here we come.
