Chapter Three

"WAKE UP MISS LEADER!" Kal screamed directly into my ear and made me jolt awake as I fell off of my bed and onto the hard cold floor.

"Kal, what the heck?" I groaned as my ears rang in pain. I sat up and she shoved a piece of paper in my face where I couldn't see what the blurry words were.

"We got our positions! You were lazy and didn't wake up when the announcement went off, so I took the liberty of writing everything down for you!"

I took it from her, and looked at the list.

"What does Best seed mean?" I asked confused, and handed her back the paper.

"The best to their positions. I got best seed for Scout, and Mercy for Spear Bearer, and she's the only girl on all boys teams!" She laughed.

"I see. What time is it?" I got up onto my feet.

"Time for lunch. Mercy grabbed you some food. Let's get you to eat." She lead the way to the cafeteria where the others from each group were eating in from the long tables.

Mercy waved me over, and smiled, "Hey, sleep well Jigu?" She slid the tray over to me and took a bite of her own food as Kal grabbed hers. We sat down and ate together.

"Yeah. Sorry you had to grab me some food." I picked at the small bread that was on the side.

"It's fine." She drank her water.

"Are you gonna eat that?" Kal pointed to my bowl as she talked with her mouth full, and I pushed my tray over after taking off the water and fruit.

Mercy looked from the bowl to me, "You didn't even touch it."

"I'm not hungry, but thanks." I nibbled at the red fruit, it being far sweeter than many things I have ever tasted.

Kal was licking the bowl of rice, eel, and veggies, as Mercy got up and ordered a small bowl. "You're too skinny. A fruit, bread, and water, will not keep you sufficiently full of energy. So eat."

"Mercy, I am fine.Thank you. You shouldn't have used your points on me though..."

"Eat."

"I..."

"Eat."

"Mercy."

"Eat!"

"Fine!" I picked up the chopsticks and poorly picked up the rice pieces.

"When was the last time you ate a full meal? Meat? Veggies?" Mercy asked as the delicious meal made me start stuffing my mouth full of it the best I could.

"This is delicious!" I mumbled with my mouth full. I swallowed, "And... Well, I had a bit here and there. So I don't know."

"Last full meal?" She asked surprised. "Have you ever had one?"

I shook head and finished clearing the bowl of the last scraps of rice which were sticking to the bottom of the bowl.

"That's it. I am feeding you everyday if I have to. " Kal punched my arm, making me jump.
